Yeah, I guess I should have looked more carefully at what things they were taking OUT of the game this year, but to be fair I never imagined in a hundred years they would take something as basic as THAT out of the damn game. Something that's been part of the game since they started making Madden.

0% chance. They said before the release that they might add it back in for later years though.

anybody have problems with fair catch fakes? I played chiefs/bills today. I punted away and switched to the gunner. the bills punt returner waved for a fair catch and I made the gunner run past him in order to avoid the returner. I didn't touch him, there was at least a yard in between the two players. Sims announces it as a fair catch but the returner takes off running and gets a 30 yard return.

I also see, almost every time I punt, the opposing returner calls fair catch and then runs forward (as if he was standing inside his own 10 yard line and hoping for a touchback) at the last second. But this happens at like the 40... Adding about 15 yards of bounce to my punt. Of course, my computer controlled gunners don't let the ball bounce as far as it can. They just grab it on the first bounce in mid air, downing the ball WAY too early. Still, it's a really fun game and I'm glad I own it. Just little things. I wish I was the one in charge of making this game. It needs a whole new philosophy. |

Somebody explain to me why they don't port this game for PC's. My sons a IT student computer nerd and the best he's come up with is 'they're idiots' and 'that shit is gay anyhow so who cares play world of tanks or something'.

This would allow people to fix EA's horrid AI system and then they would actually have to do some work to match it.

They blame piracy, i hate the console only BS. Truth is there is just as much piracy on the xplox as their is on the PC. Only it's easier on the 360 because once you have spoofed the custom firmware you don't even have to crack the games.

If you stand in front of the punt returner he will move away and allow you to gain some extra yards on the punt and eliminate the possibility of a return.
My biggest gripe is not allowing the controls to be re-mapped. I much perfer the controls from the older ps2 versions(03/04/05/06/07/08etc) I use to own on defense, could stop almost any pass from being completed, using strafe and triangle any pass within range was picked if it let my guy catch it. I haven't been able to adjust, it's just not natural to me. I also hate how they removed the mini-camps allowing a person to learn the new controls. Posted via Mobile Device |

the real shame of it is the punting game has been improved by a lot. this fair catch glitch just negates that improvement. when I punt from my side of the 50, I can kick across the field and get it low enough that the ball will hit the ground before the returner gets to it. depending on the bounce and roll, I can nail punts for 60 yards+ and they cant even return it. But when I punt to a short field I have to angle it up to avoid the touchback. that's when the fair catches are called. if the gunner gets close, they try to return it anyway.

I've played a decent amount of games and haven't encountered a single bit of this stuff you guys are mentioning.
I'd also like to add that I think the new physics engine is great and is what's been needed for years. It was extremely frustrating to stop a player short of the marker, only to have him get the first down/TD due to some horseshit predetermined animation. Gang tackling actually matters in this game. The game has it's flaws and like any sports game it gets a bit monotonous, but overall this one is a huge step in the right direction. |
