People like this cause an interesting problem. He's obviously a POS, but putting him away forever will cost a fortune to keep him for life. Now, is the solution to reduce any amenities he receives in prison so much so that he's living at or near poverty level or just exterminate him like the vermin he is.

I'd like to believe that this is true, but I've also heard that the romanticized notions of prison justice are mostly fairy tales.

No, it's true. The problem is that after they get beaten of killed, they or their family sue the prison, the warden, the guards and anyone else they can name. Which creates a really disgusting situation where taxpayers pay money in damages to a child molester. Prisons normally tell these people to say they're in prison for something else.

That's true, but I also think that depends on the prison. Some hesitate to use seg for that. They'd rather have the prisoner try and fit in and not disclose his sentence. Space could be limited and there's usually higher risk of suicide attempts. And, prisoners in seg will most times petition to get out of seg, even though they know it could be risky.
