Jackson is the guy I think would be the worst fit in a 4-3.

Powe/Poe and Dorsey (if resigned) could handle DT in a rotation.

I don't like Hali as a 4-3 OLB and he's not strong enough to play the end...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

If he runs the under it is not a 4-3. It is an attacking defense using 3-4 personnel

So they are just going to lose him you think? Maybe he will give the Chiefs a discount since he has been way overpaid?

I guess we'll see.
Would he then become a rushing DE, instead of just eating up blockers?

I would love to see them get some return on that huge investment.

I think this is a terrible idea.

You cannot have 0 pass rush coming from a DE spot in the 4-3.

Nor can you have a guy 270 lbs in coverage like Houston.

Houston has to play DE in the 4-3. Period.

Houston and Hali both at DEs isn't an option. They'll get eaten alive against the run.

Any DC that can work with our talent and exploit what we have....that's what I'm for. Schemes generally don't excite me. Having said that, I'd prefer a coach that can employ a 34-43 hybrid that's super-aggressive.

Told you guys this was coming. All signs were pointing to the 4-3 under which the likes of Kiffin, Jauron and Seattle runs.

It is actually a defense that s similar to the 3-4.

Jauron runs a pure 4-3, I believe. The others run a hybrid.

Jauron ran a under at times while at Cleveland but yes he is more of your standard 4-3 guy.

Kiffin is the one that runs the under more so than his old Tampa 2. Remember before he developed the Tampa 2, Kiffin was the master of the 4-3 under while at Nebraska and Arkansas. Pete Carroll learned the 4-3 under from Kiffin at Arkansas.

Interesting. I'm okay with the defense. Figuring out if I'm OK with kiffi
n. I love Seattle defense and Cleveland defense was good considering the lack of talent.

By the way, if we go with the under defense, either Hali or Houston will be playing DE but not both.

As others have stated, it uses 30 front personnel.

Chris Clemons is only about 260 but the guy opposite him runs like 320.
