Report: Tom Brady destroyed his phone. Appeal has been denied.
Nope.....he did nothing wrong.
http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/...eld/ar-AAdBouH The NFL is going to reject Tom Brady’s appeal and uphold the four-game suspension he is facing for his alleged role in Deflategate, according to one report. Stephen A. Smith said on ESPN’s “First Take” Tuesday morning that a source told him Roger Goodell will not reduce or overturn Brady’s suspension. Perhaps more shocking, Smith cited a separate source who told him Brady actually destroyed his own personal cell phone rather than just refusing to turn it over. We have known all along that the bigger issue here is Brady’s lack of cooperation during the Ted Wells investigation. The NFL was furious that Brady wouldn’t give up “relevant” text messages and emails that might help clarify his level of involvement — or lack thereof — in Patriots equipment managers allegedly letting air out of game balls. Smith clarified that he was told by one source that the NFL is going stand by its four-game suspension within the next 24-48 hours, whereas the information about Brady destroying his cell phone was just “something I heard.” It was almost as if he was downplaying the information knowing how much of a bombshell the rumor was. Reports in recent weeks have been all over the place regarding Brady’s appeal. There has been some indication that the two sides are working toward a settlement, though reports like this one make that seem unlikely. If the NFL upholds the suspension, no one would be stunned. If someone can prove that Brady destroyed his cell phone, that would be tough for the New England Patriots quarterback to explain. |

There's what you can do and what you should do. Somewhere along the way the Patriots got so far up their own asses that there simply was no distinction. Perhaps a court will rule in their favor - but it just doesn't matter much at this point. Had Kraft not all but taken a shit on Goodell's desk when this first surfaced, it never gets this far.

I think the suspension has more to do with not cooperating with the biased report than what happened. F with Goodell at your peril NFL fans...

I heard on ESPN that the Well's report stated that the NFL did NOT want his phone, just a copy of a text between Brady and the ball boys.
The whole "giving up the phone" argument is not correct according to the dipshits on ESPN radio. |

The NFL is just looking for definitive proof, something they don't and have never had. The Smoking Gun. Not there. Case closed. |

did Amnorix really just compare Brett Favre sending dick pics to Tom Brady having team employees illegally deflate footballs for a competitive advantage?

can someone explain to me what the NFL had to gain by suspending their golden boy on circumstancial evidence?
Oh wait, you can't, because they wouldn't. But let's be naive! |

There's a pretty damn good chance that someone in the Patriots organization cheated and that this person was frequently in direct contact with the most important player in franchise history. I'd say there's still a question as to whether or not the cheating was at all effective and the degree of Brady's involvement in any capacity is still open to interpretation. But unless you're buying the whole "'The Deflator' nickname was because he's on a weight loss program" bullshit, then I think we can close the door on whether or not at least 2 people within the Patriots organization were actively attempting to circumvent league rules. They may well have done a shitty job of it, but that's when you start to get into the attempt rather than the effect. To my eyes, there's not much question left that the Pats tried to cheat and that Brady refused to cooperate with any investigations by the league into how far that cheating went. Hell, Brady may have even made the right decision (if there were texts between him and the ball guy, he almost certainly did), but he can't be surprised when the league comes looking to drop the hammer at that point.

The only way that deflation not occurring is even POSSIBLE is if you believe that the refs stuck to an extremely specific timeline of events (which was created specifically to exonerate the Pats) when testing/refilling the balls. Even then, the temperature coefficients don't work out quite right, given that the last Patriot ball and the first Colt ball would have been tested pretty close to each other. The likelihood of the exact specific chain of events necessary occurring is not the same as the likelihood of any one of a number of things being different.
