I think the case for soccer skill being more elite can be seen in the vast difference between "good" players and "elite" players.

In MLB or NFL or whatever everyone at that level is obviously pretty amazing...and some are really great and then you have the best players in the game. However...the gap between the good players and the best players in soccer is simply huge...on another level compared to the tops of the "American" sport.

The skill sets needed are so much more dynamic and those separations become so much more obvious.

jfc just look at the safety rules being placed in every year... I remember calling soccer a sport for fairies back when i was a kid and it seems football is answering that call as the supposed "contact sport". I'd rather watch the cheaper product with much more use of physical tools, creativity, and free flow than watch modern day football without the big hits that brought most people to be fans of the sport back when it was gaining notoriety.

I can never understand when people say there hate football or any other sport. At the end of the day sport in itself is boring unless you have an interest in it. Football is huge in the US but everybody else in the world find its boring. Soccer is huge in the rest of world and many find it here boring. Cricket is huge here in the UK but if I find it pretty boring.

The soccer ball is 8 or 9 inches and then the size of the foot which may vary.
A baseball is less than 3 inches as well is the bat. Both pieces are smaller. Much harder to hit let alone control the direction.
The golf ball is less than 1.5 inches and the clubs are smaller yet. And people put those balls in a 4 inch hole from over 100 yards. Or get it with in 5 or 10 feet every time.

I played a sport at nearly all times at the high school level. Football, basketball, Soccer, track and a little golf.

Was a good fielder in baseball, very average batter, but didn't play into high school mostly b/c I really had zero love for the game. Then again, little league wasn't "the thing" in our town then like it is in many small towns. Probably different now given the success of local players being drafted.

You certainly know zero about soccer. Absolutely never played. The running is obviously the easy part.

What does hand eye coordination have to do with a sport that doesn't allow you to use your hands outside of goal? Hand foot coordination is much more difficult.
