****Official 2013-14 Missouri Tiger Football Repository Thread****

We have two things to look forward to this year:

1) The potential beginning of the Maty Mauk Era. Mauk represents the best chance for this program to get back to a level of respectability after horrendous QB play cost us multiple games last year.

2) The last year of the Gary Pinkel era. Pinkel's entrenched cronyism won't play in a conference this competitive, especially if he couples his abysmal gameday coaching with lackadaisical, worst-in-conference recruiting. Pinkel was the formerly adequate meal that has now turned into a four pound bowel obstruction. It's time to jam a Fleet's enema up our collective asses.

Here is the schedule. We dodge Alabama, LSU, and Arkansas in the west and the Non-con is decidedly weaker than years past.

8/31: Murray State
9/7: Toledo
9/21: @ Indiana
9/28: Arkansas State
10/5:@ Vanderbilt
10/12: @ Georgia
10/19:Florida
10/26: South Carolina
11/2:Tennessee
11/9: @ Kentucky
11/23: @ Ole Miss
11/30: aTm

Looks like 6-6. Undefeated in non-con, 2-6 in league play.

I will eventually update the OP with a list of high profile in-state recruits that decide to go elsewhere after a half-assed attempt to gain their services. The inevitable cavalcade of *** rejects, skeezers, skanks, and scalliwags we get will fill out the ranks.

Razors, cyanide capsules, and Jonestown Kool-Aid are available in the break room. Second door on the left.

Since every Mizzou thread eventually dies of AIDS, I recommend starting anti-retroviral therapy immediately. I believe Walgreens covers Express Scripts.

Premium In-State Players:

Roderick Johnson: **** OT, Florissant, MO.
Monte Harrison: **** WR, Lee's Summit, MO.
Jimmy Swain: **** LB, Lee's Summit, MO

Commitment List: From to and possibly

Spoiler!

I think it would be a mistake for Golden to do so, but I always expect the non-qualifiers to only stick around for as short as possible before leaving.

The defense is going to bite dick next year if that happens.

Losing Sam, Ealy, Golden, and EJ? Yuck.

Combine that with Franklin, Josey (I'm guessing), Lucas, and Washington leaving, and that's almost insurmountable.

The next few years might be pretty rough. Our best recruiting class was 2010. Once those guys matriculate out of the program and the and '13 class is what we are forced to rely on, it could get really, really ugly.

At least Copeland will be gone.

If you watched him constantly get crushed yesterday you should be too. The ** guys you crowed about constantly got their asses handed to them. Yesterday was a prime example of why recruiting matters.

And with that said, that's why guys like Chase Abbington should be a SS or a Will Backer for us upon entry. We need athletes on the back seven.

Losing Golden would be a big blow. I think Loud will be ready to be a solid backup next year. If they at least bring Ray and Golden back, that's a pretty good starting pair.

If they lose both Early and Golden to the NFL, the DE spot is going to be thin. Might see Brantley moved to the strong side in some spots if that's the case.

I think they'll return all three RBs (Josey leaving early would really surprise me) and will have enough to have a pretty effective offensive unit. But the defense will be a point of concern.

Did Mizzou not have a great TE this year? I never saw anyone that looked close to the Rucker/Coffman type.

Seeing first round grades for Kony Early from everyone I can find on Twitter. Some as high as top 10 (but that's Matt Milker, who thought Joeckel=Ogden).

He gone.

Can't blame a kid from the bootheel for taking a payday that's going to make him a multimillionaire.

Henson made a lot of changes to the offense. The OL took much narrower splits than in years past and the TE went from an integral part of the offense to a de facto sixth lineman, which the team needed to boost the running game.

Sean Culkin was apparently really impressive as a true freshman, only to break his thumb and never be heard from.

Eric Waters played TE this year, but probably caught fewer than ten passes

What, you mean the whole world wasn't dying with anticipation to learn who Notre Dame or Rutgers would be playing on the bowl slate?

I only watch The World Wide Leader, so as far as I know Notre Dame is the biggest thing in the world.

So the Cotton Bowl seems to be Mizzou's "Ahhhh-too-bad-you-just-missed-it" bowl. Why would the Capitol One Bowl pass on us?

First, it doesn't matter monetarily because the SEC splits bowl payouts.

Secondly, it's either one of the BCS games or it isn't. We may as well get to beat an old Big 12 team, and play where it's easier for Mizzou fans to travel.

Fine with me.
