Bakshi made some great B movies but A Scanner Darkly is not one of them
Fire & Ice * Frazetta did the overpainting and he also served as a model for the film underneath it because the actors they hired weren't able to show the body language that Bakshi and Frazetta wanted Wizards American Pop LoTR Coonskin ...are all B movie level Cool World and A Scanner Darkly were Hollywood productions with money behind them. old school rotoscopy looked better anyway

I liked this movie when I was a kid...it's a B movie, but the story is actually really good.
BTW, fair warning for my other selection, Werewolf in a Women's Prison...it's basically softcore porn. A LOT of Nudity |

Recorded this yesterday so I could show the grandkids what was on TV when I was a kid.
Watching it right now and we're all at how bad it is. Hilariously bad.

Donnie Darko I searched and didn't see this title listed. A 2001 release with a budget of $4.5 million with an unknown Jake Gyllenhaal as the star. It had no promotion but I caught it on HBO a year or so later. Between reruns on TV and my DVD, I've seen it 30 times. It's just something about it that I like and it's a cult hit.
Napolean Dynamite Almost the same could be said for this movie, but the budget was only $400,000 and the actors were even less known than Gyllenhaal. Another movie that didn't do well at the theaters but caught on later with HBO and the like. I had the "Vote for Pedro" t-shirts at one time, seen it at least 30 times. |

Just watched Silver Bullet on IFC.
Maybe time for some Bubba Ho-Tep.
