ChiefsPlanet Survivor Pool

UPDATE: The polling is now closed. If you want in, you must vote BEFORE NOON, and state your vote in this thread ALSO BEFORE NOON. I will make an exception for you if you do both of those things.

I know we're already several weeks into the year, but let's do this. This is a pretty low-effort thing to maintain, so here's the gig.

If you've never played Survivor before, here are the rules:

1. If you clicked on this thread, you have to participate. There's no cash or even casino cash or anything like that involved. This is just for football prowess, which is what everybody but Donger is here for anyway.

2. There are a lot of games every week, your job is to pick the ONE TEAM you expect to win their game on Thursday/Sunday/Monday (I will not include this week's Thursday night game in this contest, since I want as many people as possible to participate).

3. You cannot pick that team again this season. Period. You pick the Panthers to win this week? Great. That's the only time you can ever pick them again, even if they end up hosting the Jaguars in Week 14 or something.

4. If you miss your pick, you are out for the rest of the Survivor season. If your pick wins their game, however, you get to play next week.

5. If you miss your pick for the week (like, you've been playing for a few weeks, but forget to make your pick in Week 9 or whatever), then you're out. Sorry, but you gotta swing the bat.

6. Last man standing is the Survivor. You get to fantasize having sex with Zooey Deschanel in your mind. Everybody else has to fantasize about wet mops for a week. Honor system.

Once again, I am not including tonight's Thursday night game in this contest for this week only, because I want everybody to participate, and cutting the contest off a few hours after you start it isn't terribly smart.

But, then again, neither is starting a Survivor Pool 4 weeks into an already-starting season. But I didn't think of it earlier. So shut up.

Poll to come. Vote for the team you think will win this week.

Edit: polling will close late Sunday morning, pretty much whenever I feel like it. But I'm shooting for noon.

Wait damnet I want to change my vote to Indy over Jax. All a person has to do is pick a team against the Jags each week how hard is that?

Oh well I'm picking Bungals over poop stain Browns.

The Bungals defense is pretty good I think like ours. Also I got respect for Marvin Lewis for marching into Cinci GM and Owners office to demand upgrades in their work out facilities and over all proper training equipment and went off on them for things he needed to turn the franchise around and that was after a losing season everyone though he should have been fired. It took grapefruit size balls to do what he did.

Cassel has already beat the Steelers before.

I'll actually take Minny. Todd Haley sucks that much. He really does.

I've probably already fooked misseff.

Used to a 'pick 2, every week' survivor pool.

Strategized as if I'd eventually have to pick all teams once, figured better to pick the Cards now than be forced to pick them later against better competition. But w/pick one, and 3 games gone, no reason to even LOOK at the bottom 5 or so teams ever.

Though if Jax upsets the Colts, looks like I could be in pretty good company.

You should set these polls to time out when the first NFL game of the week begins (excluding last thursday's game of course).

If you can, it would be great if you'd include the list of people who are still alive in the pool in the OP of each new week's poll. It might be less work than backtracking through all the polls to make sure the "winner" has entered a winning selection every week.
