Yeah, so I saw a lot of movies this weekend.

Elizabeth: The Golden Age - Mediocre, at best. Slow and dragged on. Shorten it to 2 hours and it's golden. It's not, so it fails.

Michael Clayton - Amazing. Everything about it is awesome. However, it's VERY complex and mind bending. You have to think, so be prepared. I still feel like I'm missing key details of exactly what happened. Gotta see it again.

Across the Universe - Perfect is one word that comes to mind. It just works. And, contrary to many people I bet, the movie is best viewed sober. Trust me.

Yes it does. The whole Jason Bourne-in-a-blender super-shaky camera style that's trendy right now needs to die in a fire. That's not good cinematography, that's a poor substitute for legit camerawork.

Audience has it at 86%.

This may be a case of complete over-analyzation by the critics. The movie is about an alien force trying to invade and colonize us. You're not going to get The King's Speech depth out of a flick like that. Accept it for what it is and enjoy it.

I can appreciate documentary-style camerawork. But when you combine a shaky camera with 10 cuts a second it just destroys any sense of immersion and makes it impossible to follow.
