Keep in mind that you're a novice lifter for a longer period of time than you think you are. Novice lifting can last anywhere from a few months to a year or two, depending on how hard you hit the weights and where you started.

Once you've reached the point where you don't make regular progress on the SS program, you are ready to move on to the intermediate stage, which can last you for a good number of years. Find it HERE:

If you're a very advanced lifter (many, many years of CONSISTENT weight training), then there are lot of programs out there, and which one you pick is simply a matter of preference. If you're really that advanced, you should know what works for you and what doesn't by this point.

I was finally able to run today. Every now and again, my left shin would hurt very mildly. My right one never really hurt. I didn't push it and would start walking when the left one started hurting. I only pushed it to 2.65 miles in 30 minutes, around 3-4 minutes slower than normal.

Go do some more researching and try that first sentence again.

The bottom line is there are a ton of supplements some naturally and some not that can enhance performance or ones physique. There is nothing fake about the results they provide. It's just a matter of what the sport will allow that draws the line.

Week 7 on Beyond 5/3/1..

Did a bunch of hip warm ups and light squatting.

Squat work sets..
225x5
255x5
290x max reps (got 12, but needed a few breaths between 10-12)

Joker sets
305x5
320x5
335x5
350x5

last set i did 225x10 with 3 sec pause in the hole.

Did some leg press and leg curl supersetZ for da swole factor, then hit the prowler for 6 x 40 yard passes with 225lbs on it.

Pentagon Considers Ban On CrossFit Workout Program

The exercise program — a mixture of resistance, calisthenics and aerobic exercises which stresses variation and repetition — has become wildly popular over the last decade, as many troops have become vigorous practitioners of the CrossFit lifestyle and military units have even adopted CrossFit as their official physical training plan.

In an internal memo leaked to reporters, the Pentagon outlines how it would stop military members from doing CrossFit, even in their private time.

“Service members who own personal Crossfit-specific equipment must turn it in, and receive a receipt, at their major unit supply activities within 30 days of receipt of this action,” the memo reads. “Service members with membership in private CrossFit gyms must cancel their membership and receive written cancellation notice which they will turn in to major unit administrative activities for collection and verification within 15 days of this action.”

The memo also mandates that military law enforcement patrol private CrossFit gyms — which will be added to each installation’s off-limits establishment list — to catch any non-compliant service members.

If approved, the plan is sure to raise objections from some devotees within the ranks, as well as owners of the private gyms who will lose revenue. But many senior leaders are applauding the change, with many noting that troops had followed the same physical training plan for decades — pushups, situps, and five mile run — and that worked out just fine.

“It was getting kind of ridiculous,” said Command Sgt. Maj. Francis Burns, senior enlisted leader for U.S. Army Europe, as viscous brown tobacco spit congealed in his stubble. “Suddenly there’s a new PT plan, which hasn’t been vetted by the Pentagon? Thank God the chief finally put a stop to it. After all, if we had let our troops split off on their own and not follow guidance from higher, we may not have been so victorious in Iraq and Afghanistan over the last decade.”

Further plans to curtail unauthorized physical training include prohibition of the P90-X and Insanity programs, and “adventure races” such as the Spartan Run and Tough Mudder events.

Exogenous supplementation of testosterone, whether its from intra-muscular injection, orals, OTC legal 'boosters' or administered by doctor for someone suffering from low T/thyroid issues, does not automatically mean they will build tons of muscle or experience subsequent performance gains. All it does is increase protein synthesis at the cellular level, allowing the user to recover faster and rebuild faster, provided that the building blocks are there (ie diet is is check). This is why you will see morons take gear that are clueless, and gain 10lbs of water weight, only to end up back at square 1.

This topic is starting to get silly, as there is a ton of mis-information and misnomers being thrown around now..

Really, I have no problem with steroids in sports. It's already there, anyway, so they might as well legalize it and let the athletes have dedicated, monitored usage by trained doctors (if they don't already).

Actually, no. Steroids, other than testosterone itself, suppress testosterone levels. They don't raise them.
