I have been a fan of this cab since the article was ran about Vermeil's winery. I have not purchased the first bottle, but my boss has bought quite a few for me as gifts, since I like it so well. The 2000 is really very nice now.

One of my other favorites, which I have enjoyed a lot is Freemark Abbey. I drink primarily cabs, and this is incredible but a little pricey.

Franciscan Oakville Estates is a very nice Cab with an obvious Oaky taste for just around $20.

The On The Edge wines are good. A little pricey. The Jean Louis Vermeil is their flagship. They are proud of it at about $60/bottle. It is good though.

Trent brought a bottle down last time he was here. Very good!

I think she has been paying $31-$35 a bottle for the cabs she has been giving me. I will have to drop a hint about the Jean Louis Vermeil this year. I am continually impressed at a lot of cabs once they reach that magic 7th year in the bottle.

Took HemiEd's suggestion and had a bottle of the Franciscan cab last night. We've been drinking a lot of the really big, bold reds like the Earthquake and Inkblot lately, so this was a nice departure. Smooth, velvety, and easy drinking.
