Is Aqib Talib the best DB in the NFL history?

Been watching a ton of NFL this season and there really doesn't seem to be a better NFL defensive secondary player than Aqib Talib.

Wish we could get our hands on him.

It was a face mask. If we still had the rule for intentional and unintentional face asks, it would have been an intentional one. But it also wasn't the worst face ask ever committed, requiring the on the spot creation of a rule for ejection for intentional face masks.

Classifying that as just "a face mask" is the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

The face mask penalty is a penalty for tackling a player by the face mask. That's what he did.

There is a specific rule in the rule book for tackling a player by the face mask. It's the face mask penalty. Talib tackled by the face mask, thus he committed the face mask penalty.

Let's try it this way; what did he do in addition to tackling by the face mask?

Regular radio here talking that he should have been thrown out of the game.

All I could think of was "This is what Denver gets away with all the time"

OP started this thread three years ago and it's still just as relevant.

Talk about longevity and forecasting football...

Not a very memorable game from either Norman or Talib last night.

That's true. Talib's performance may have ranked 11 or 12 among Denver defenders.

Don't know of any I have seen that were worse and I have watched for over 45 yrs. Not only did he hang on for a long time he actually held on long enough to use the mask as a handle to whip this guy's head and whole body out of bounds.
You could see the player immediately go with Talib's direction of his pull so as not to be injured.

Talib could have put this guy in a wheelchair if not killed him on the spot. Your homerism makes you look very small.
