As far as getting another HDD is concerned, I picked up a 250 GB HDD for like $90 about 6 months ago, I'm sure you can get them cheaper now.

I have unlimited space, its nice.
yeah thats what i plan on doing. are you sure i can fit around 3,000 songs on a 40 GB?

And how do i transfer music from my computer to the PS3?

If you are still planing on gaming, some of the game installs can take up to 5Gb of space on the drive. Plan for that before you fill it up with music.

For shits and giggles lets say each song is on average 4 MB.

Well there are 1024 MB in each GB

1024 x 40 (GB) = 40960 MB

40960 / 4 (MB) = 10240 Songs

Sounds about right.

I have a shit load of music on mine, not anywhere near 3000 though.

If you hook it up to a surround sound, where you can have your TV off, but keep playing the music, it can make for some quite romantic evenings.

Do you have a wireless router?

If so, then yes you can.

If not, then no, you can not.

Once you are connected wirelessly you just need to open your computer up to share files. Pretty simple.
