No, I don't know you personally. No, when I say this, and I will, I don't mean it to hurt you personally or demean you. Unless I really do because I won a bet, and then you're wrong, and I'm rubbing it in and collecting unicorn urine and punching Leprechauns in the face to remember the moment...

I'm not declaring Andy Reid anything.
It's just funny how people can declare Reid good at handling QB's in one sentence and in the next they cuss the Chiefs for being foolish for not taking Geno Smith. either you believe in Reid when it comes to Quarterback or you don't ... choose a position. Seems rather contradictory to say 'we have a great QB coach in Andy Reid so we need to take a QB' We duh ... if Reid is so great then shouldn't he know which QB to take and when? Hell ... if you don't believe it Reid then continue your rants. but the inconsistency is interesting

Andy obviously sees something in Alex to think he can excel in his offense. I'm excited about that as I'm actually higher on Alex than most here.
At this point, just get what you can out of Albert. If he's wanting that type money, get younger and cheaper with higher upside. But like has been mentioned, I expect the LT we take to be as good or better than Albert righ tout the gate. |

With what we are giving up, and the impact of the position Joeckel plays KC's draft slot demands it. A QB,Pass Rusher,DB, and WR have a little leeway because of the impact they have and the growth to create game changing influence . Now if Joeckel was a 10-15 selection it would be a little more lax for him to develop. It's the cruel truth with the position he plays and what he is billed as. Joeckel is the most pro ready OT with excellent technique and flawless footwork according to most experts, Thus if he isn't elite out of the gate which means his rookie and second years of play then he is a bust. He must be a HOF quality OT plain and simple, and due to he's protecting a glass QB.

HOF? Nah not quite that yet.
Top 10 at his position with room to grow? I don't think that would be too much to ask. |

passing on a QBotf will get you fired trading for a QB that sucks will get you fired trading good talent and failing to replace it will get you fired Reid and Dorsey are hitting most of the 'will get you fired' keys this offseason

If Cassel can throw 27 TDs in 15 games, Smith can throw 27 playing for Reid.

I'm actually expecting close to 30 from Smith, in Reid's offense, with the weapons we have.

Yep, it can't be a lateral move or it would be like we never had a 1st round pick. If he was picked in the 10-15 range development would be allowable, with his billing he'll have to be an OT God or the pick was a waste.

I am just not way down on Alex Smith.
I think Smith is probably going to be in the 12-18 range among starting QBs. I'd bet he's probably closer to 12 than 18 when all is said and done. I think Smith's a credible NFL quarterback that's probably worth about what his contract is paying him...but not said contract and potentially 2 2nd rounders. In being risk averse, Reid and Dorsey actually took a far more risky approach than they would have by simply sticking with Albert and drafting Geno. In the process they've cost themselves significant draft leverage and upside. I've said that was can dislike this approach without disliking Alex Smith. Smith's a solid veteran QB. This was still a poor way to address this off-season.

Alex Smith's more likely to throw 20 picks than he is to throw 30 TDs.

Although, I think he has the ability to get into the top 10, which IMO, is good enough. Frankly, I think a top 15 or so QB anymore is good enough |
