This could be the start of something promising.

Let's just throw 2009 into the fire, shall we?

Let's assume Pioli became the GM we hoped he'd become starting in 2010.

His draft then was full of gems. Berry, Moeaki, Lewis, Asamoah. McCluster looks phenomenal as a scatback, and Arenas was a capable returner and a good nickel.

Now he opens by drafting Baldwin, netting us an early 3rd in the process.

Folks, I think Pioli's becoming the guy we've been expecting to take this franchise over.

Now Mocking The Draft has us picking Brooks Reed in the 2nd.

I think this is a team being built the right way.

I BELIEVE AGAIN. Who's with me?

I've said this a few times already but I'm still not happy about the 2nd round last year and I'm watching with trepidation this afternoon.

If he hits a HR today I will begin to believe.

It's an excellent development, but it's still terrifying that he's hitched his wagon to his premier acquisition from that disastrous offseason.

Maybe we start seeing New England Cassel now that we've got him two guys who can make shit happen downfield and the league's best running back.

Seattle & Arizona game Cassel was way better than New England Cassel.

I don't know. Look at the gobs of talent sitting there, it's gonna be hard to screw it up IMO.

He'd have to take a corner or a punter or a running backs coach or something.

Man I don't have a lick of faith in Cassel but I KNOW he's at least in 2007 Eli Manning's ballpark as a QB.

If Manning can win a SB with gobs of talent around him....

One could argue that the Baldwin pick is just a another in a line of decisions to make chicken salad out of Cassel shit.

Piloi could buy my faith by unhitching our fate from matt cassel. Nothing else matters until that is addressed imo.

Stephen Hawking could be a pro bowl QB with the talent the Chiefs now have to support Cassel.

McCluster looks phenomenal? I hope he has a long and great career, but I sure didn't see "phenomenal" last year.
