I couldn't agree more.

It's been that way the entire series. TBS showed the box on every pitch. Fox only shows it when it backs up Bo$ton.

The announcers don't question it, either. Seems like they know what's up.

Don't deserve to win if you can't score runs. Too many guys hitting under Mendoza in this series.

No shit. We have Wacha in game 6. Does Peavy scare anyone if there is a game 7?

We are 9-1 in elimination games since 2011. This team knows how to win when their backs are against the wall. 9-1 is not luck or chance.............. it aint over.

There's no point in comparing this team to 2011. Chris Carpenter isn't walking through that door. Lance Berkman isn't walking through that door and Albert Pujols isn't walking through that door.

The team has put up the following run totals this postseason:

9,1,3,2,6,3,1,0,4,4,9,1,4,5,2,1

3.43 runs per game. Almost two fewer runs per game than 2011 and one fewer than 2012.

The offense is just not good enough and three of our five productive hitters are either severely injured (Beltran, Craig) or ineffective (Carpenter).

While there probably can't be an argument made for another player right now, if the Cardinals push this to 7 and pull it out, I think someone will emerge that is deserving, be it Wacha, Holliday, Beltran, or someone else. Those 3 would have the best shot I would think as they're really the only ones that have performed to this point and therefore have something to build on. Or maybe someone like Rosie if he can come in and shut them down late in both games or some scenario like that. I don't recall a player form the losing team ever getting the WS MVP, but this has been a series of "firsts," so I wouldn't count anything out.

Edit: Okay, so I looked it up and a losing player has won it once. Bobby Richardson, 2B for the Yankees in 1960. I think you see things happen like this way more in other sports, like say hockey, because they give out just one overall playoff MVP, as opposed to baseball having separate ones for the League Championship Series and then the World Series. Also, only 6 players have ever won the LCS and WS MVP in the same postseason including Freese in 06, Darrell Porter in 82, and Willie Stargell in 79, the last time a team came back down 3-2 on the road, so maybe we have some history on our side with Wacha.

You talking to me? About the fact that we are 9-1 in elimination games since 2011?

If so lets be clear. We won how many elimination games with basically this same team? so you want to go in the last calendar year only. I count 4-1

To make the wildcard Won
ATL Won
Washington Won
San Fran Lost
Pirates Won

I'm not saying it will be easy or even that we will pull it off. But, this team knows how to win with its back to the wall.

IT AINT OVER!

Not sure if anyone's interested but Lids.com has 40% off right now, and it's supposed to be excluding the WS merchandise, but I tried it and the code works. You can get the on-field WS hats down to $24 which is pretty good compared to the $40+ they are anywhere else. Let me know if you want the info.

Not that things like this matter a whole lot with game 6 looming tomorrow night, but Yadi just won his 6th Gold Glove and Waino got his 2nd...making them the first Gold Glove combo to watch a pop-up fall between them in the World Series
