Who should be the Chiefs top FA and Draft targets for 2011?

I heard on the radio today that Fitzgerald is not available this year. He has another year on his contract and won't become a FA until next year. To get him this year, the Chiefs would have to give up way too much. That's what they speculated anyway. So, what's the case? Is that true? I was hoping to get him this year.

Who should we target in free agency? Who should be the top draft prospects?

In order, I think the Chiefs greatest areas of need are.....

1. Another WR to complement Bowe
2. A big, nasty, run stuffing NT
3. Another pass rusher, LB or DE, to complement Hali
4. An OLB to replace Vrable. Or, is Studabaker up to the task?
5. An ILB to replace Belcher / Mays
6. A young protege at C to replace Wiegmann in 2012. Or, in 2011?
7. A new, young RT. Or, do you think Richardson will continue to improve and hold the job for years?

Asamoah could replace Waters in 2011 or 2012. Agree?

Thoughts?

Here is a list of players that will become free agents in 2011. It includes both “Restricted” and ”Unrestriced” free agents.

Note:
With the collective bargaining agreement expiring last year, the amount of year that were required for players to become unrestricted free agents increased to 6 years. Depending on whether or not the NFL and players union are able to come to an agreement before there is a lock, there is a good chance that the number of years required for a player to become an unrestricted free agent will likely be reset to either 4 or 5 years which is why I have included players experience below.

Center should be higher on that list. If we keep our current pick in round 1, that wouldn't be the dumbest selection in the world, depending upon player/talent.

WR is a must and has to be first priority. Chambers sucks.

Then I'd say a NT, because we still don't have a true 34 NT.

Then center or Oline depth.

I wouldn't be pissed if we ignored ILB for a year, but another pass rusher is badly needed. Vrabel is a liability due to his age/speed or lack there of.

Well...We mainly need two positions. OLB and WR. We need a NT as well as a Center. I may be the minority on this, but i think we need to draft another good RB as well.

Landing Fitz would require at least a first and a 3rd and possibly another pick next year. I dont care though, I'd rather have Fitz over any rookie WR.

1st: To Cards for Fitz
2nd: Pass rushing OLB
3rd: To Cards for Fitz
4th: LT/RT
5th: center
6th: NT
7th: RB

Stefen Wisniewski, C, Penn State

Is there a better name for an NFL center than a humongous Polish guy?

I think Battle, Castille, Cox, Shaun Smith can handle the short yardage duties. Unless Thomas Jones retires, I think we're set at RB for another year.

Wow. That would make for an awefully thin draft. I'd love to have Fitz, but I think that's too much to give up.

I'd stick with interior offensive linemen and a wide receiver.

Everything else I'd draft. Pass rusher, nose tackle, right tackle.

ok now to be serious...

more help for Cassel and some help for Hali...

shit...I like the Pats so much I'd even find an Aaron Hernandez type TE to combo with Moeaki, too...

and it appears as if Dexter is more Woodhead than Welker so if we could find a Welker that would just be fantastic as well

In this scenario all we're really giving up is a third, which in our case is a glorified 4th. I'd give up a 3rd rounder if that guarantees that our new WR is perennial pro bowler.

I'd give up two 1sts for Fitzgerald in less than a second...

two late 1sts for THE premiere "Patriots way" receiver in the NFL...with all of the talent in the world?

Yep...sign me up.

Easily worth 2 1st round picks...easily easily easily...and he won't come much cheaper than that.
