****Official UFC 162: Silva vs. Weidman Thread****

Unfortunately, I won't be doing pbp (for the few that enjoy it). I think this is a decent card but only worth buying because of Anderson. If you can, check out Edwin Barboza on the prelims.

That's a hyperbole, he doesn't do that in all his fights. He only does it against opponents who he thinks might get fazed by it.

Did you see him do it against Sonnen at any point in time? What about Belfort? Just a couple of examples for you.

Hughes, Diaz, Penn, Ortiz off the top of my head. Guys are emotional after fights do take any comments with a grain of salt.

I thought he did during the 2nd Sonnen fight and the Belfort fight was pretty short.

I don't remember him taunting him like that at all. He might have dropped his hands at some point in time as he is wont to do, but it was nothing as egregious as this, Bonnar or Maia.

I'm on a mobile so I'll be brief. I also haven't seen the fight yet, only read pbps and gifs.

Incredible. That left hook looked like it didn't have much on it, especially when one remembers Silva has eaten a flush overhand right from Hendo. Absolutely crazy.

As to those expressing concerns about the interview, part of me thinks it is poor translating as usual. I'll listen and note any discrepancies

Man, it looked like it was a combination of being right on the button and the fact that Silva was completely relaxed and not bracing for impact. His neck wasn't stiff at all, it was almost akin to someone getting blindsided. The reverse angle (from Weidman's back) showed it really well. The whole knockdown felt really weird, but the KO came on the follow up when Weidman got on top of stunned Silva and drove a monster punch through his face.

I think the rematch is going to be amazing (if Silva takes it seriously).

Anderson has always been a class act outside of the ring, IMO.

Part of me thinks if theres a rematch, its going to look like BJ vs. Edgar II. The other part thinks if there is a rematch, Anderson will hurt Weidman. as in, serious injury that hinders his career.

Anderson has always been a class act with exception to Maia, imo.
