If Alex Smith puts up the #'s that RG3 and Russell Wilson does next year, you will have no choice but to cut him some slack.

Incorrect. He has to do more than a couple of ****ing rookies.

Those rookies were top 10 QB's last year.

If he has a year like Russell Wilson and throws 26 TD's and wins a playoff game, you'll have no choice but to give him props.

I believe we have all stated that Alice can get to a SB. Can he put a team on his back and win one?

Doubtful at best.

And that's what it's all about. Take your baby steps and shove them. Win Championships in your "win now" bullshit, or GTFO.

It's his eighth ****ing season. Comparing him to young guys still cutting their teeth is chickenshit.

People spent the last four years comparing Cassel to rookie QBs to make him look good, too.

Comparing players as if every team is equal in talent and coaching is ****ing ridiculous as well.

Not saying Smith is RGIII or hell even Wilson but to act like they had rookie seasons on equal teams with equal coaching is disingenuous as well.

Go read the Stafford extension thread where all the talk is how much better he would be with good coaching.

No mention of the fact he plays with the best WR in football by a wide margin.

Smith has no excuses here with the coaching or talent, but we haven't seen him fail yet you guys run around here bitching like its done.

Oh wait, I know the answer Smith is Cassel so there can be no other result right.

Some of these young guys are starting out with fantastic support around them.

Alex never got that in his developing years. It wasn't till 2011 that he could begin to really function well... and in that time, he has been one of the top QBs in efficiency.

... and let's be honest... it has become such a backyard balling game that these young guys get a huge advantage over most with their athleticism. We'll see how they do now that defenses have a decent amount of film to study.

No excuses for Alex, sorry. Whatever talent he was playing with, he was being outperformed by Shaun Hill.

Shaun Hill didn't luck into playing with a stacked team, so his NFL career is in the shitter.

Alex Smith was simply in the right place at the right time.

He's also 33 ****ing years old, idiot.

It has already been explained to you why Alex Smith's YPA was a fraudulent indicator of his ability.

FYI, Shaun Hill had 26 career starts and had 4 300-yard games.

Alex Smith has 3 in 75 starts.

Another example of what a turd we now have at QB.
