We have all seen this before, when your team isnt playing worth a damn, you have to go into ball hog mode and try to score 50 points. There is no other option. It might not work either, but what else can you do?

Score and take it upon yourself to win the game.

Forcing bad shots to shoot an inefficient 40 points isn't going to give you a chance in hell at winning basketball games against the Spurs. All you accomplish is playing right into Pop's hands.

What if Lebron scores 45+?

It's an entirely different game.

LeBron could have definitely scored 45+ in that game. Shit, he scored 31 on only 21 shots. He just would have had to do it at a much more inefficient rate (due to all the forced, contested shots required), so it wouldn't have affected the outcome at all. It would have just played into exactly what the Spurs defense was trying to force. What is difficult to get about that?

FYI, with the 31/10/5 game yesterday, LeBron now has 31 career postseason games with 30+ Pts & 10+ Reb. That's over twice as many as Jordan had (15). He's also had 74 postseason games with 25 Pts/5 Reb/5 Ast, which surpasses MJ for the most ever. He's also the only player in NBA history to surpass 4000 career points, 1200 rebounds & 1000 assists in the postseason. Total scrub, though.

Like I said in an earlier post he was hesitant when I saw him in game 3 and it sounds exactly the same in game 5 as you have described. That doesn't sound like a phenom to me.

It would have mattered greatly if he could have scored 45+. I am not saying they would have won, but it is very possible.

Since your excuse is Lebron's teammates I would be happy to find some NBA Finals' games where Jordan's teammates looked like death and he carried them to victory.

Well that didn't work either. Turned into one of, if not the worst finals losses of all time. IMO this is worse then getting swept by the spurs in 07. What they were doing was not working. When something's not working try something different. Adjustments.

He wasnt playing this Spurs team. FWIW, I dont think LeBron is as good as Jordan, but the run the Spurs have had rivals Jordan's Bulls. Its not as "spectacular" but its certainly just as steady, maybe even more so, over the long haul. 5 Championships and counting and 19 playoff appearances in a row (Ive lost count) is pretty special.

You talking about 1 game or totally dominated, as the Heat were in the series?

The Celtics blew the Lakers out 148- 114 in Game 1 of the '85 Finals. However, the Lakers came back to win the series 4-2.

The Rockets swept the Magic in the '95 Finals. Only game 1 was close.
