I'm curious of Krispy Kreme's as well - not just Hostess' ...???

Swiss rolls. Pfft. Gourmet snobbery. Ding Dongs were a treat that every man could enjoy, not just the upper class.

You could get them at Walmart for like 88 cents for a pack of eight!

I'd still rather have one of those oatmeal cream pies or fudge rounds though.

Oatmeal pies probably don't get the accolades that they deserve. They went against every snack treat convention, and yet were unfathomably delicious. They are the true rebels of the snack cake world.

I remember when the cherry pies would actually have real cherries in them!

Now there is nothing but cherry mush inside of them...

My wife really likes the Hostess lemon pies but all of the Hostess pies always made me gag.

Back when I could eat stuff like this, the main thing I liked were these:

or these:

I wasn't crazy about Twinkies, either.

To be honest, if I was in the mood for something like that, I tended to just get a chocolate covered donut or a maple bar..

Anything Krispy Kreme can **** off. Most overrated trendy garbage ever in the history of history.

Hostess Chery pies were awesome. Not sure if still made.
Ho Hos - Yes
Snowballs - disgusting
I had a Twinkie about a month ago. Terrible. Not the same Twinkie of my youth.

Sadly Underrated--The Vanilla Zinger and Coconut/Raspberry Zinger
I could do without the the Chocolate Zinger--just get a Ho Ho or Hostess Cupcake or even a Ding Dong instead

It's amazing how much that little bit of frosting on a zinger adds.

zinger > twinkie because of frosting

And what's the deal with the McDonald's cherry pie?

I've only had them when they are giving them out for free for some reason, but hey are just awful. And I'm pretty sure that the filling probably ranks just a notch below fresh molten lava as far as hottest substances on Earth.

Yet I recall being teased at school once that I had zingers because my family probably couldn't afford a "real" Twinkie. Morons.

I can't remember Little Debbie making anything that I was excited about. Sure, you wouldn't turn it down, but c'mon--it was no Hostess.

One thing I vaguely remember about Little Debbie was that whatever its Ho-Ho knockoff was, it came wrapped with two together (unlike a real Ho-hos, which were individually wrapped). So, once you opened one, you had to go ahead and have the other one also. Because you didn't want to have it go stale and waste it. Score!
