No you don't, you really don't. Your Cinderella season has been great but it's flawed. I give you credit for doing what you have done, but you have not ran up against a team of this talent yet.

You do not want any part of this until the FF championship game.

Well gather around my pretties and let me tell you why. I'd welcome it because unlike many, many Jayhawk fans I don't tie my personal self worth up with how well my College Basketball team is doing. The Epic/Monstrous psychological meltdown of Jayhawk Nation in the event of a loss to WSU and the prospect of WSU having a perfect season on top of that would be so delicious as to defy description. I would feed off the souls of the dead and wounded here, at Arrowhead at my tailgate, at phognet and generally everywhere KU basketball fans hide for years to come. That my friends is why I want to see them play and that is why last year Self came out and pre-emptively said he'd never schedule WSU.

The sweet irony in all of this is KU has much to lose in a huge basketball game against WSU on a National Stage with Title implications on the line. You know it, I know it and the basketball world knows it. I just want the NCAA to set it up for maximum drama so that both teams are playing well and have earned the right to play.

Watching WSU having the chance to pull the pants down on Bill Self and lay that kind of embarrassment on him to cap an undefeated season or to go on to a National title would be like Christmas for Shocker Nation. My fellow Wheatshock fans would feast upon the glory of a National Title whilst buying every rubber chicken from Texas to Iowa and painting it Crimson and Blue.

The shift in the National paradigm, the media love, the bragging rights at every kegger and tailgate for years?!! It would be glorious and epic to finally be handed a pin to pop the ever so fragile psychological bubble that KU nation lives in. It would be a feast and also a nightmare that KU nation might never recover from... at least in our lifetimes. Oh they'd pretend they were over it but they wouldn't be. My God, it would be orgasmic and I'd be there to witness the whole God dammed thing.

So yeah, I say Let's play one.

So basically, it's "I hate KU & want them to lose." Join the rest of the world. And nobody outside of Wichita, KS gives two shits about a WSU/KU matchup.

It would draw National Interest in the basketball world. They'd play that press conference of Self saying he won't schedule WSU on a loop. It would be good drama.

To be fair, any match-up against KU is going to draw national interest in the tourney.

WSU would just be the easiest route to a FF if they were the one seed in our region. Hell, even if it's flipped, I'd love to have the Shockers as our two seed. Either way works for me.

And nobody is going to give a shit about the scheduling drama outside of WSU fans. KU played one of the toughest non-conference schedules in recent memory. We have nothing to prove in that regard.

I see Lunardi has Wisconsin as a two seed currently. I'd probably rather play them than WSU. Huh, didn't realize they'd climbed back into that discussion.

I'd welcome being in WSU's regional, but Wisconsin would be the weakest possible option if they happen to stay in the top 8 (although they carry their own kind of risk).

Odds are that at least one of the top two seeds in KU's regional won't even make the E8, though, so worrying about that potential matchup before three elimination games have even been played obviously isn't worth it. It seems that some of these WSU fans don't quite understand the crapshoot nature of the tournament, but they probably will soon enough.

This reminds me of all the Chiefs fans on this forum a few months ago who claimed they wanted to play Denver so badly in the playoffs. They saw us lose twice to those assholes in the regular season and know that we weren't better than them, but they still wanted a shot because they seemingly believed the Chiefs had no pressure on themselves if they lost, and that Denver's meltdown would be immense and awful if they lost to us.

Yeah, those are nice words, and yes it would have been freaking amazing to take out Denver in the playoffs if we had made it past Indy. But if we had lost to Denver like we probably would have? They undersold that because the Chiefs were supposedly playing with borrowed money.

In reality, there would have been a huge meltdown if we lost to Denver in the playoffs. Not as bad as giving up 28 points in the playoffs to the ****ing scumbag shitstain Colts, but it would have rattled us good.

If you get your wish and face KU in the tournament, you might win. And that will be great. But you also might lose. And if you lose, it's going to suck way harder than you think it will right now. I guarantee it. And in the moments after that loss, you'll say to yourself, "I wish WSU could have played a worse team that wouldn't beat us."

Yes, yes you do. That's why we haven't seen you around here in the years since WSU's last NCAA tourney run in 2006.

Yeah, we're all certain that you are in fact, winning at life.

This thread is for discussion about Kansas basketball.

You're the one cheer-leading for a team nobody in this thread gives much of a shit about.

Get it?
