Worth your money?

I report, you decide. (Nick Athan, reerun, has given out this scoop for free knowing it will sway you into paying for premium. I'll pay if anyone can 1)actually read it 2)resolve all the contradictory statements and 3) find any info that isn't just a vague rehash of common knowledge on the issue. I don't know why this guy gets under my skin...has something to do with his bizarre use of ";" instead of commas.)
----------------------------------------------------------

Now for those who are not members! Please sign up for at least the Monthly Package because this is worth the price for one year! More Premium stuff coming in the future so join up now before the draft! Tell your friends and all Chiefs fans that this is the place to be for KC Chiefs News and Truths!!!!! The Chiefs gave me a nice present this morning that surprised me... Though I can't disclose it will in the long term help the credibility of Warpaint Ilustrated and the job we'll be doing for the fans of this website and magazine in the future!

Before I get to the good stuff. I appreciate from the bottom of my heart the comments and the well wishers who have posted and sent me e-mails as we move into April after having our greatest month ever at Warpaint Illustrated.

I owe that to all of you who continue to post on the boards, buy the monthly access and of course buy our magazines. The more people that sign up and subscribe to one of our packages the more information we can produce and give to the fans of Warpaint Illustrated! Ok I'm done!

So here goes with the absolute latest on the Chiefs pursuits!!!!

1. Talks between the Chiefs and the Dolphins Have NOT stopped and are still ongoing at this time. Stumbling block appears to be neither team wants to be the first to cave. We all know that already. But he offer is what it is and it won't be changing today, tomorrow or the next day or on draft day! Period end of statement. Unless other teams get involved.

Two sources have confirmed to me that that once the trade is done, that this deal will get wrapped up quickly between the Chiefs and Surtain but it is likely headed to the Draft Day Floor before any resolution. Each had their own take.. This is a rehash to some but its the truth.

KC is the ONLY player for Surtain at least for now! The Dolphins exposed themselves when they told his agent to negotiate a deal. They were a bit surprised anyone was willing to pay the salary that Surtain has wanted. KC is willing to do that and perameters for a deal are in place. But let me stress that does not mean EVERYTHING has been agreed upon. But at least both sides are willing to negotiate in good faith should the trade go down. The Dolphins are backed into a corner and have lost all their leverage in making demands for a better draft choice plus regardless of what is posted, said or you hear; they can't keep Surtain on the books in 2005 with a $8.5 million cap hit. Next year if they tag him that figure could rise to $9.5 million.

I can further tell you that the Dolphins and Nick Saban will not be publicly be talking about Surtain from this point forward. He's learned his lesson and whatever you hear from this point forward will be a lot of speculation by people who don't know nothing! Both sides it appears have agreed to keep their guns in their holsters for the time being!

The report on Metro Sports in KC two days ago was more designed to draw a line in the sand instead of detour talks. It was done to make a public statement without really saying anything at all. This is why certain sources use the media. It's very effective!

2. Kevin Johnson and the Chiefs have made equal overtures in regards to wanting to get a deal done. I don't think of a deal gets done it will be announced prior to Monday but if that changes, I should be able to find out. With that said, I would not expect an announcement today. The two sides are a perfect fit for each other. Johnson wants to play for the Chiefs and has gone on record to say that. It's not hard to figure out the outcome of this.

Still that does not mean the two sides will get a deal done but it does mean something that KJ has no other visits scheduled that we know of at this point. Plus he waited two weeks at the Chiefs request to delay his visit. He's targeted the Chiefs who want to push out Johnnie Morton and if they can sign KJ they'll have a solid receiving core! Honestly not Raider material but good enough to win the AFC West especially if they add another receiver in the draft as expected.

3. Jamie Sharper's name is still not on the radar screen for the Chiefs. However, that could change by the end of the day if Scott Fujita's surgery does not go well on his injured ankle. The injury was not a surprise but the Chiefs though it was best to have the surgery done today and get a medical report so they can adjust their thoughts as they approach the NFL draft. Though Sharper is being wooed very hard by Seattle so that option might dry up and I know KC won't get into a bidding war for him. There had to be a reason that none of us know about as to why he did not sign with the Bengals and be reunited with Marvin Lewis.

I can further tell you that the Chiefs are not going to leave any stone unturned the next couple of weeks or on draft day. They are serious about not only improving their defense but their entire roster. They will not be afraid to release ANY member of this team if they don't practice and play to the coaching staffs expectations.

There are some vets on this team that are very worried about their jobs and know they better step up or they'll be looking for other NFL gigs. And for some of those players on defense, who have not cut it in KC playing on a terrible defense; won't be able to find steady work anywhere else.

KC means business folks! Serious business and even though this defense has a few more holes to fill it can at least line up and play better defense in the AFC West than it did a year before. Its farther along than it was on January 2nd when they lost to the Chargers... They can compete now but still have to get that cornerback and another linebacker either over the next couple of weeks, on draft day or in June. If they do, combined with this offense and special teams; KC is going to be hard to fend off next season. I plan on being in Detroit next February covering the Chiefs for you!!!

Now was that not worth a yearly subscription!!! Sign up today!!!

Stay tuned the fun has only begun!!! GO CHIEFS!!!

Nick

A nuisance, that grammar check is. Never does it seem to understand the style in which I myself write.
