Yeah, so I saw a lot of movies this weekend.

Elizabeth: The Golden Age - Mediocre, at best. Slow and dragged on. Shorten it to 2 hours and it's golden. It's not, so it fails.

Michael Clayton - Amazing. Everything about it is awesome. However, it's VERY complex and mind bending. You have to think, so be prepared. I still feel like I'm missing key details of exactly what happened. Gotta see it again.

Across the Universe - Perfect is one word that comes to mind. It just works. And, contrary to many people I bet, the movie is best viewed sober. Trust me.

I liked Carriers quite a bit. The whole time I'm sitting there trying to figure out who that actor is and it hits me as the movie ends. CAPTAIN KIRK! The same with the hot chick, Coyote Ugly, of course.

good film, I liked it. Check it out

I've been watching some old movies lately. DVD's I bought, but haven't watched... just stuff that's cool to have.

Watched Aliens with my son the other night, the original Nightmare on Elm Street Tonight... and tackling Predator next.

I really liked Blood Diamond. It was a little predictable at times but Dicapria and the African guy are both great.

I am a big Ricky Gervais fan but was a little disappointed in the Invention of Lying. It is still well worth a watch though.

I've had the Invention of Lying for about a week now. Something keeps me from choosing it over whatever else I've got. I'll probably watch it next.

Speaking of old movies, I just finished the Metallica rockumentary "Some Kind of Monster". It was excellent and could have only been better if the St. Anger album had turned out better. The tension in the band during the course of making that album was pretty intense.

But the reason I wanted to post about it was because at one point Lars decides to sell a bunch of horrible paintings that he had hanging on the walls of his house. I could have painted most of them if I had some paint, a few paint brushes, a blindfold and parkinson's disease. And some of these paintings sold for mulitple millions of dollars. WTF?
