It can get a bit Madden-y for sure. I've seen trades made where teams would send star players to other teams as if it were nothing. Dudes who don't know the team they're in charge of controlling end up giving away some of their best players for something like a 2nd round or 3rd round pick.

With the 38th pick, the Tampa Bay Bucs select Donte Moncrief, WR, Ole Miss
Moncrief fills the void left by the Williams trade and gives McCown his Alshon Jeffrey. Like Williams and Jeffrey, Moncrief gets the job done with size and body position, but has better speed.

I think Ward is going to turn out to be best safety from this draft, and the WR position is just so deep. Ward fills the most gaping hole on the Chiefs, and has an immediate impact on the team's fortunes.

I really like what Boss Chief has done for the Falcons so far.

You very well might be right about Ward. Lee and his play making ability resonated with me. When I would watch him play @ USC I would think that I would really love to see him play for the CHIEFS.

The Jaguars select Ryan Shazier, OLB, Ohio State.
The Jags need a sideline to sideline LB next to Poz. I was expecting Shazier to be gone by now. |

SNR sent me his pick.
So I hate this guy. I've said it before. But realistically, he's at or near the top of the BPA list. And also consider that he's going to get drafted in the 1st round by some team... possibly in the top 15. I kind of have to do it. He just makes too much sense for the Vikings here.* The Minnesota Vikings select*Derek Carr, QB, Fresno State |

I was going to try and go Clowney - Carr for the Jags but Clowney got picked and I didn't know if Carr would last.

I'm a big Carr fan, but do not take my word on QBs. I'm almost always wrong.

Spread QBs make the transition all the time. I'm not worried about that with Carr.
With him it's the glaring loss of accuracy and timing when blitzed or pressured. I know the guy has only been in college and that will likely improve, but it's something I can't ignore. You compare him to someone like Geno Smith, who would have brainfarts and throw passes late even when not pressured, but rarely did his accuracy ever suffer because of pressure. With Carr it's a different story. I see that and it makes me be pretty cautious. If you draft Carr, you draft him entirely for his athleticism and arm and hope he can find the rest in coaching. For a team like the Vikings with Norv Turner, he's an ideal QB, and I think he'd do okay. It's the main reason why I took Carr here instead of waiting until the bottom of the 2nd to hopefully take Jimmy Garoppolo if he was available. And though they don't know the misery they're in for, they do have Matt Cassel for a couple years since they re-signed him. I'd love to see Carr sit for a year and then take over in 2015. |

Carr is a very good fit for Air Coryell. Now it's time to get that OL built back up so the under pressure concerns are lessened.
