Phone Headset for the office

I have an old GN Netcom headset (2006) that has a wireless headset with a standard old school wired phone. When I make a call, there is a motor that raises the phone up to talk. I can also just use the old wired phone or do speaker phone.

The headset unit is plugged into the wired base. I like being able to dial from the base and or use the speaker, then as the call goes through, being able to toss on the wireless headset and pace... no wires/plugged into a satellite phone clipped to my shirt etc.

If I go "blue tooth" (old and don't quite understand), can I still dial from base phone?
