Darn, I missed some drama it seems.

I understand why Kansas wouldn't want to play Missouri in football, the last thing they need is to start scheduling a tough non-conference opponent when their program is being rebooted every couple of years trying to climb out of the cellar.

It also makes sense that they wouldn't want to say "we won't schedule them until we can compete with them". You have a convenient excuse, the jilted ex-girlfriend excuse. Why say "Our football program sucks and we don't want to get baby-sealed by a ranked team"?

They aren't doing anything cowardly or dishonest really, they are just trying to rebuild.

I am 100% sure the series will resume when Kansas gets a football team again.

You could look at Clemson and South Carolina for an example. SC left the ACC in the 70s, but the series has continued uninterrupted since 1896. For some reason those schools didnt find it against their best interests to continue the series. I'm sure Kansas will come around.

Why is that weird? You lost your last 2 to them on your way out the door, giving up an avg of ~40 per. And that was before they got really good.

IMO, if they're going to get clubbed, it might as well be by a decent team...but you're right.

I think there's a lot of teams in the country that would be 5-TD dogs to Baylor right now, including plenty in BCS conferences and even some in the SEC-East. Impossible to know but it's hard to imagine Georgia or Vandy or Kentucky holding them under 50 points right now.

Before they got good? Their '11 squad is easily the best they've had at least in the big 12 era and won 10 games. That's pretty good.

The '09 home loss w/ their frosh backup torching us for 400+ is an absolute embarrassment.
