Heh... yeah, much better. Furk has the speed of a Newsgroup site. It's literally a server farm with unlimited bandwidth. So you'll only be limited by your own ISP as far as speed goes. Everything I download and stream from Furk goes at my max ISP speed. I've never actually seen Furk buffer for more than a few seconds, and since I got Google Fiber it's never buffered once.

Furk is really incredible, in my opinion. Not just for XBMC either. You can also use it on your computer for downloading anything you need. If what you're looking for can be found on any available torrent site, Furk will be able to play it. For video files, you can stream them directly from Furk in your computer's web browser too. So you can watch it from XBMC on any device, or do the same from any web browser.

Furk is a torrent aggregator. You type in what you want, and if it's not already on Furk's servers, it will scour torrent sites for it, and copy it to Furk's server and notify you when it's ready. But nearly everything I want is already on Furk's server. If any other Furk member has previously requested the file(s), it will be available as a cached copy instantly. So anything remotely popular will be there waiting already.

Not sure if that makes sense or not. But when you see it in action, it's very impressive.

Here's one of the reviews with the claims about the xbmc install that comes with gbox:

Matricom’s latest TV box comes with a custom version of XBMC preloaded. Not only does it support hardware-accelerated video playback for a wide range of video formats, but it’s also configured to make installing add-ons for Hulu, Amazon, and other internet media sites as easy as possible

Sounds like they're just including a few sources with their version of XBMC. But you should be able to do the same exact thing yourself very easily.

I've never been a big fan of the pre-configured versions of XBMC. Always been trouble. There's an XBMC Hub Wizard from xbmchub.com, that has a setup like this. I used it once to setup a friends system, and it sucked balls.

I've always stuck with the official XBMC versions. I've used some Nightly versions in the past. But these days I just stick with latest stable version.

When I was having all the problems with mine, I had a bunch of crap on it from xbmchub wizard. It looks really nice on the surface, because it has "apps" with a GUI that allow you to change your buffer limit, clear your cache, and do all kind of other "fixes" via their wizard app. I almost gave up on XBMC when I was running that piece of shit. That was when I was crashing like twice during the course of a movie.

FYI... there's a nifty new feature called the XBMC App Store. This let's you install plugins via repositories, done through a slick looking GUI. It's all automated. For example you basically see the 1Channel logo and description, and say Install, and it will install the repo so that you'll receive future updates when available.

Check it out: http://www.xbmchub.com/forums/announ...app-store.html

Hah! That's timely. I've been screwing around trying to get the spotimc repository added to my box all morning. I just tossed this app in, and now I've nabbed spotimc in about 3 minutes. Sweet.

Yeah. XBMC Hub Wizard is a piece of shit. I've never been so frustrated.. I'm surprised that it's so bad, considering the talent of some of their developers.

Hmmm, I would be very interested in teh 4 tuner model. Wonder when that ships? The web page only has the 2 tuner up for pre order.

You don't have to hook up a PC in your living room and you have easy access to all your recorded shows on tablets and laptops.

Well, I tried installing the latest XBMC from the XBMC website and it was not a good experience at all. HD video played jerky as hell. Going back to the Enhanced XBMC that came with the gboxl.

Just as an FYI: Spotimc doesn't work with Android currently, which sucks for me as I'm an avid spotify user.
