That seems odd.

The Star will have a full front page article on the decline of KU Basketball under Bill Self. Citing sources with direct knowledge that Devonte pushed that expired tag repeatedly down the stairs before causing several thousand dollars in damage to it 3 years ago, and rubbing his thumb on it's back while making all of Jayhawk Towers watch and chant his name.

I'm impressed with how much Lucas has improved while at KU. He plays hard. But KU has usually had a better big to start. Bragg is one of the more frustrating. He's physically talented and has flashed now and then but really seems to underperform.

But let's try a different point. If the front court isn't the weak link on this team, what is?

I would rather Lucas was the depth off the bench.

Can someone explain to me why K-State fans are disappointed with Bruce Weber? Yeah, he's a boob and I like to point fingers and laugh at him, but do they not know they are K-State? Bruce Weber is a slightly above average Power 5 coach. Once again you are K-State.

In 2013,Weber's K-State team had the best season they have EVER HAD since 1972. Yeah, that is 45 years. And they want to fire him? Why? You are K-state. You aren't going anywhere. Just enjoy your soil judging championships and fat chicks. Just hire a sleazy assistant coach to recruit and that is the best you can ever ask for. Which might be good enough for 3rd or 4th in the Big 12. That is your ceiling. Live with it. Accept it. Live to fight another day, and you can brag to us about how in football you lost 4 games and get to play in the Dicks Sporting Goods Bowl while screaming with joy. You guys can't even afford a full mascot outfit for Willie the Wildcat, just the cathead. Accept your fate. ****, I'd extend Weber to a 10 year contract and continue giving away your lame wrestling masks & cookies for the first 1,000 people. Sandstorm ZOMG!!!!

Frank Martin was a far superior recruiter and had a much higher ceiling. Weber is a good X's and O's coach who has always never, ever been able to recruit. It's also hard to give Weber full credit for that season hen he be pulled it off with Martin's players. Chasing off Marcus Foster and other quality players also speaks to his inability to recruit and maintain talent.

K-State lucked into Frank Martin. Sure, you do everything you can to keep him but eventually he'll figure out he's coaching at K-State and leave for better jobs. But now, you have no chance at getting a Frank Martin type of coach. Once again, you are K-State. You have no chance of getting anybody better. You are like a carp eating all the shit at the bottom of the lake.

I agree - and I think the anger arises from the fact that he was chased away by the sheer stupidity of their AD.

I keep hearing he is good Xs and Os and bad at recruiting.

From what I've seen, he's meh at both. A good bit of the production not named DJ Johnson is from Weber's guys IIRC and they aren't an un-talented team. He's brought in Meh talent.

Conversely, I've never seen anything that jumps off the court as being good Xs and Os. Neither in the gameplan or the discipline. He is ALWAYS doing boneheaded things. I think Owundu or some such asshat fouled out with 8:30 left in the 2nd. (Something Frank Martinstein did once with Denis Clemente - also epic dumb), and when they were playing Baylor, Weber COMPLETELY abandoned the only thing that was working - throwing the ball to DJ Johnson because he was scoring AND getting fouled every time. Rack up fouls on big guys? NOPE. Dribble around. Against a zone.

There is never any effective motion, no ball movement, no creative plays, nothing to confuse defense or create matchups. Just dribble around, take bad shots, and hope for offensive rebounds.

As far as execution, it's bad. I once saw Dean Wade, completely not giving a ****, not getting within 3 feet of the guy he's supposed to screen. DJ Johnson is the only guy that can consistently work effectively in the post. The rest of it is hustle plays, defensive failures and making bad shots.

Totally meh on every aspect of Xs and Os. He's not beating anyone with a gameplan.

KSU ran off Martinstein. Like literally said **** you bitch. So he left. And went to a comparable program in South Carolina. He was a better recruiter, but overall a meh coach too.

I'm a fan of Martinstein the person, because everyone I know that encountered him said he was first class all the way, but he was a meh coach also.

Weber is a good X's and O's coach comparatively when his recruiting is such an albatross. Otherwise he's Kim Anderson.

He does seem to really "bring it" against KU (with his history with Self, it makes sense) he did coach his way out of a couple of Big 12 victories this year.

He was driving an "ex-teammates" car, and didn't know the tags were expired. So, when he got the ticket he explained what's what to his "ex-teammate" and said ex stated he would take care of the ticket. So, when D'Tae got the court summons he ignored it. My guess is that the ex-teammate confirmed this with Self, as Bill was 100% 25E2 sure that Graham is a good kid who made a mistake and found out the hard way that you can't trust what people tell you.

Self also said that players are instructed to notify the coaching staff any time they receive any summons or notice, regardless of how small they think it is. Also just my guess, but Bill probably thinks it was punishment enough to have the embarrassment of being arrested, and spending a couple of hours in jail.

I feel for Graham. Before my wife left me, which came as a shock after 23 years of marriage, I got a ticket driving her car with tags that were about 15 days expired. She told me she paid the ticket, but almost 12 months later, I found out she did not pay the ticket, and purposely didn't pay it. Not a fun time for me.

I dunno I feel like this would have worked out better if Graham would have been strategically arrested for the ticket hrs before an interview with an NBA GM while painting his apartment. He would be guaranteed to be drafted once he arrived to the interview with paint soiled clothes.

LOL...I see what you did there.

GM: So what would someone say if I hired someone who came to an interview with no shirt?

Graham: You could say he had some damn nice pants!

Well, shit.

Jackson charged with misdemeanor property damage

http://www2.ljworld.com/news/2017/fe...property-dama/

The charge stems from a Dec. 9 argument that started at the Yacht Club, 530 Wisconsin St., and spilled outside. Branson said that during the argument witnesses claimed to have observed Jackson kick the driver’s door of the vehicle and kick a rear taillight causing damage. During the argument other unknown individual(s) caused damage to the vehicle.
