I'm not comparing them. I'm trying to illustrate the obviouse fact that people in the FO are paid to scout players and go over tape from angles and sources that people on CP don't, and won't ever see. They interview players and have direct insight about players from their college coaches. And yet, if they don't do what some shmo on CP wants them to do, said schmo will be pissed at them. why so difficult to understand.

And Pioli is without a job because he was unable to do the one he was assigned to do. I'm not naive. The sports world is different from the rest of ours. The money, the second chances, etc. Yes, I'd probably lose my licence if I screwed up even 20 percent of the procedures I do, and Pioli can screw up 80 percent, and I'll bet hes working again next year. It seems that you're phrasing this as a pejorative, while I view skepticism as healthy, a positive sign of critical thinking.

As many of us noted with Pioli, he (or anyone else) doesn't need to do anything we want or advise, but he has to be right. No excuses.

yep, agreed. I've got guys I hope we draft too. If the powers that be don't draft them, then I'll wait a couple of years before I'm critical. It is an inexact science, but one that I have more trust in them being able to handle than the general public. I'm still skeptical, but I'm reasonably skeptical, as I know my knowledge base and resourses compared to theirs.

Sometimes access to all of that information can be a negative. It can cause you to overlook some of the most simplest fundamentals. Can the man play football or not, and is he a major character risk?

I don't care how much they get paid, sometimes, just like on CP, we over analyze things even though the answer to your question is staring you right in the face.

Shit like that is how "The Right 53" is born.

Don't forget, this is Dorsey's first gig as a GM. It's not like he's a proven commodity.
