Speaking of Blu Ray - I saw a Blu Ray player at KMart for $299. I don't know what they are going for now, but it seemed like a good price.

Blu-ray players will be available for under $200 this holiday. Buying a PS3 for just Blu-ray is now a waste of money.

The PS3 now has a good library of games. I actually think owning both a 360 and a PS3 is a bit of a waste of money. Most 3rd party titles are cross-platform, you are essentially buying another console for a few first party exclusives.

But will they be reliable at that price. I still believe you get what you pay for. I will stay openly state PS3 is the best blu ray player for the price.

I've had one fail. My boys abuse the hell out of the second one (much to my chagrin), and it's been a trooper. Damned thing just won't quit.

I know all the horror stories. It kinda sucked that mine died, but I got another one free in a couple of weeks, and haven't had an issue since.

It's funny. I worry about it more now that I have the PS3. The PS3 is so quiet and the 360 sounds like a damn helicopter in my family room. I just hope it doesn't crap out right after my 3 year warranty is up.

The only reason I'd own a 360 is to be able to play Halo and GoW (also BioShock, but that's on PS3 now)

I wasn't a console gamer before a year ago, so I don't miss any 360 games.

I only get about an hour a day to play at home anyway, so I have more games than I can even finish unless I stay up until 2 am for a week (I have).

But if I had to come into it right now and choose only one console it would be the PS3 because I have an HD TV, and the RRod thing would scare me off, and LittleBIGPlanet is a game that my kids can play forever (no joke, I've seen them!).
Plus the built-in wi-fi, free PSN and other social stuff (maybe Xbox has some feature similar, but like I said I never had it so I don't miss it.) and it's a clear value to me.

Got mine back. They gave me another unit. It already has a little rattling when I move it around. Older one too, not a Falcon. Oh well as long as it works. Updating to the full NXE now.

I've been gaming since the Coleco Vision, and i've owned nearly every console since then and up to the PS3. There are plenty of games for both systems, and as far as gaming goes, I don't see either system having a distinct advantage over each other.
