Chargers can't even sell out against the Raiders!

I find it kind of funny not one Charger home game has been broadcast on TV since they ended the ticket guarantee. The NFL has given them a 24 hour extension to sell out this game. They have about 3,000 tickets left to mark it a sell out. And they are winning this year. Maybe everyone is waiting for the annual Charger collapse.

The Raider game has typically had no problems selling out due to all the Raider gang banger wanna be thugs. The game always has problems (fights and such) The Chargers even went so far as to say that if you buy single game tickets for the Raider game you had to purchase the same number of tickets for another game. Not sure if they are doing that this year.

Yes, you still have to buy a 2nd game's ticket for every Raider game ticket you buy.

Glad they don't make you do that for the Chiefs game.

Wow. That's unfortunate. I guess people are too busy hugging trees and finding new ways to make ridiculous laws out there.

Ive said it before and ill say it again. Why does the NFL want a team in LA so bad? People out in SoCal are not passionate about Pro Football.

Definately the issue. They can't ignore the almighty dollar. It is pretty sad that the 2nd largest city in the country and they can't even hold a Football team.

Well sure they've been sh*tty for so many seasons. Maybe that's why the fans don't want to go to games cause of that reason. I hope I don't eat crow at the end of the season for making statements like this.

The stadium the Raidurrs were playing in was a horrible design for a football stadium and also in a crap neighborhood where people were afraid of robbery and/ or physical assault on their person or property. People also have way more entertainment options in SoCal than in places like Green Bay and the other thing is that most of SoCal is made up of people who have moved from other places and who have no loyalty to local teams because they did not grow up rooting for them.

It is silly of the NFL to think they can simply move a team to LA unless they figure out where they can put a stadium. Nobody is going to go if it's the same old, same old.

Neither can the largest city in the country... Don't the Giants and Jets both play in New Jersey?

Truthfully the Chargers probably sell more tickets than the Chiefs did during the 80s (the equivalent poor performance period by the Chiefs). I believe they are still averaging more than 50000 a game after more than a decade of losing. The Chiefs were only averaging around 35 to 40K as I recall during the 80s.

Ooh! It was worse than that. My season ticket number was #13,XXX. I saw a few "crowds" of 20,000. It was pretty quiet in there.

NFL is popular in every part of the United States. The NFL television ratings are high in Southern California.

The problem is, a majority of the fans are transplanted Californians that don't support the local teams and they stick with their previous loyalties. Then you have a good share of people here that have grown up in Southern California but have adopted other football teams because they were turned off by the ownership/mediocrity of the teams down here (Georgia Frontiere, Al Davis, Alex Spanos). These three are as bad as owners get.

Just goes with the territory of being a Broncomaniac on a Chiefs message board. No hard feelings.

Actually, frazod is not too fond of me. LOL I wonder why?
