Best Pizza in KC?

I will be traveling to KC to visit my sister and am wondering where the best pizza is in downtown KC. I will be there for a week and plan on going to Strouds, Arthur Bryants, Gates, Mannys and Oklahoma Joes. I want to get pizza/italian one of these days I am there. Any suggestions?

Best damn Taco pizza on the planet.

The Subways that have personal pan pizza isnt bad either you can doctor them with there cheeses and ingredients.

Kelso pizza way back when they were on vivion road was great. The one in old Metro North mall was ok too. But the NKC location near Chappelles sucked.

Sort of.

But Pizza Inn will always hold a special place in my heart, since dad always brought them home growing up - ha

No it's not good - but it's better than Papa Johns. I got a pizza the other night from Papa Johns and couldn't hardly eat it - it was flavorless.

I was actually going to add something along the lines of 'I loved going there as a kid, but be real.'

It's a kid friendly pizza joint. Waaay better than kid themed pizza joints [Showbiz, Chuckie's]. I can still remember the smell, and I haven't been there is decades.

Later Godfather's eclipsed them by a long shot, ate there ALL THE TIME as a teen, was all the sports teams' go to, and even that isn't as good as Shakespeare's.

yeah we had a Godfathers off of 7-hwy - It wasn't horrible - for a franchise.

Going back to the Inn; my Dad was so cheap he'd clip the Blue Spring's Examiners' Pizza Inn Coupon. We always got hamburger and Canadian bacon thin crust for some reason. The parents would get the supreme or whatever Pizza Inn called their Combo.

Tom Scharpling summed it up:

"A year ago I ordered one of those pizzas, cause I was alone, and it was like a true low point...I ate one slice of it, I felt so sick...I walked it outside...I didn't even want it in my inside garbage...the next morning I woke up, you know what I saw on my lawn? A raccoon holding its stomach."

looks like now they call it the Everything Monster.

Everything Monster®
A hearty combination of beef topping, smoked ham, pepperoni, seasoned pork topping, savory onions, green olives, black olives, mushrooms, fresh green bell peppers and two layers of Mozzarella cheese.
