Isn't that the point?

If you notice, the two other teams mentioned in this thread made their moves to compete now, AND in the future.

The Bears picked up a true franchise QB.

The Rams strengthened their OL, defensive backfield and WR corp with young talent.

We've added stopgaps that won't likely be here (or productive) in 2010.

Of the moves, yes.
Of the question, no.

But we can agree to disagree.

I believe that the influence players like Goff, Thomas, and Vrabel will have on younger players will last much longer than their tenures.

This. I agree that the guys we've picked up thus far won't help the Chiefs compete for a championship, but they will help pave the way for the change in attitude/work ethic/preparation to compete this year. Without that step, there is no hope for a championship.

Also, we're far from done IMO.
