Spiders are everywhere
I've never seen so many spiders as this year. Every door handle ,every pipe ,every barn has black widows. I'm talking millions. And did I mention they're black widows. It's horrible ! What does this mean ????

No rain = lots of spiders. I don't know for sure but I wonder if somehow the rain washes away adults in the spring/early summer which keeps the population in check.

On the plus side, I haven't seen a single mosquito all summer!

I have feed supplements stacked on palletts in my feed mill. Yesterday I was stacking the empty palletts up and there were thousands of Black widows in them too. I feel like they're crawling all over my neck right now.

I saw a TV show once where people used an insecticide to treat an insect problem, but what happened was it killed off competitors for one particular breed of spider that could either survive the insecticide, or reproduce faster or something. Anyway, it caused the population of one particular spider to explode. Wasn't a black widow, though.

My brother in law was just bitten by a brown recluse at a concert in Sturgis. They aren't from around here so he figures some biker musta brought it in on his clothes or something.
