98.9FM The Rock Presents: Rockfest 2012
Anyone going to go to this? I went last year and had a blast. And man was I hammered. Probably one of the few days of the year other than my bday 4th of July and NYE where I just get absolutely hammered.

The event's band list just came out today. I'm pumped! I was hoping that Shinedown was going to be there, and it looks like they're headlining. I went to their concert a couple years ago at the Midland. They're a good "live" band. Tickets are $35, but if you pre-order and sign up on the radio station's site March 7th-9th, they're $25.

Anyways the big guys that will be there are:

Yeah, the majority of these bands are playing the Rockfest in Wisconsin as well.

I'm just taking a stab but I would guess these bands are getting promoted to play these shows for the majority of the Entercom backed radio stations.

I wish we could get a festival full of good music sometime... but those are all over in the EU where they have good music taste.

They need to move it back to the 1st week of June...I went the last 5 yrs...the first 3 were the best(that's was when they had it in June)...the last 2 were the worst(shitty lineup and cold/rainy weather)

Our station 97.5 is a Clear Channel station and I really don't know how it survives. Actually I'm surprised radio stations survive at all now days with Pandora, iPhones/iPods and CDs. Why listen to an FM station that plays the same shit over and over and over every single day with 5 minutes of commercials between each song when you have so many better options? But....some idiots gobble the shit up.

I literally haven't listened to FM is probably 5 years.

...and can barely tolerate AM/Sports talk. I either have my ipod with me, or I drive with no music.

Don't know about the others, but Megadeth has put out some really solid material the last few years. I don't have their new one, but Endgame (2009) and United Abominations (2007) were great albums, on par with their early material, IMO.
