It's getting more and more obvious LeBron is going to end up as one of the top 10 basketball players of all time, if not top 5, regardless of how many championships he ends up winning. He's that statistically dominant.

At the end of the day stats are just stats. In any sport it's always about winning championships. Thats the REAL goal! If any player is more about stats than winning championships than get off the team! Im happy James finally won one! He got the monkey off his back! Now let's see how many more he can win...

I have no doubt LeBron is a bad ass no matter how many titles he ends up winning, but greatness is dependent on how many titles you win ultimately. That doesn't mean he's not a great player but he'll be remembered by how many titles he wins, not what he does statistically, just like every other professional athlete.

Charles Barkley is one of the best players in NBA history. He won zero. Championships are about team quality, not individuals.

It's great that LeBron won one because it will shut up the haters and it helps solidify his legacy, but he's going down as one of the greats regardless. He's just that dominant and just that good.

Just judging by the history and ages of some the greats, Durant will get his championships around age 26/27 plus more than likely. Bird got his first at 25. Jordan at 28. Shaq at 27. LeBron at 27. LeBron has a 3 to 5 year window to get his championships in before Durant really takes over.

But yet nobody looks at Barkley the great player, they look at Barkley the ringless. It's why you play the game. It's why we watch. To win a title. Nothing else matters. It doesn't mean a thing without the ring.

Barry Bonds is quite possibly the best player to ever play the game of baseball. His greatness has nothing to do with how many championships he won (zero) and everything to do with how dominant he was compared to his opponents/peers.

LeBron likely has quite a few more championships that he'll win, but that will never define who he is as a player. He's done that through his incredible career of basketball, the kind of dominance that hasn't been seen since MJ. It's time to appreciate just how special this guy actually is. No more nitpicking.

Again, Bonds is remembered for the off the field stuff and yep...you guessed it...no ring. It's all that matters in sports.

It's very ignorant to say nobody looks at Barkley as a great player. He shouldn't be blamed for playing in the same era as MJ's Bulls...he should be recognized for the amazing things he accomplished and the phenomenal player he was (and believe me...knowledgeable fans do).

Or we can look at it your way (ignoring that championships are about team quality) and view Robert Horry as one of the all-time greats.
