I don't think we'll see a concession until these two Florida cases are resolved. As for how they'll spin it, I'm sure it'll be something about "they said it was unclear about certain key points of the Florida Supreme Court ruling at issue but did not rule on their constitutionality" and sent it back to the Court to clarify.
Gore isn't going to win either way. If all else fails, the legislature will seal it for Bush, so nothing really matters at this point... |

WisChief,
Sore give up, I don't think so. Not until there is no other choice which is REAL close right now. As far as spin goes, the only spin will be that Sore somehow graciously bowed out. Yea right. The big spin right now, is the mainstream media will not talk about how the Floriduh Supreme Court arrived at their decision to let Sore continue with the manual recount. The two laws that they were supposed to interpret the contradictions of were as follows: Short of blatent fraud which didn't happen, Katherine Harris had two laws to guide her in making her decision. One said that she MUST ignore these counts after the deadline and the other said CAN ignore. The US supreme court wants to know how the FSC arrived at she MUST not ignore these based upon the laws that they were supposed to be examining. Any reasonable person can see that they were not interpreting these laws contradictions but rather inplementing NEW laws so that Sore could continue on with the counts. This goes beyond their juristiction as they are not supposed to make NEW laws but interpret the laws that are already on the books. BIG DADDY Hopes this ends tomorrow |

Funny how the media will not talk about this MUST ignore & CAN ignore issue and how the Floiduh Supreme Court ruled MUST NOT ignore as a conclusion of examining the contradiction of these two laws.
BIG DADDY Hates the mainstream media. Talk about bias |

The US Supreme Court vacated the Florida Supreme Court ruling without addressing the underlying legal issues. They simply said that they did not understand the Florida Supreme Court's reasoning and pointed out two potential flaws in the ruling. The Florida Supreme Court must issue a new ruling that addresses the points raised by the US Supreme Court. This slows the process down, but was not the stinging rebuke that some [okay me] hoped for.
xoxo~ gaz wanted a ruling that opened with "what were you thinking?"<BR> |

Gore will not concede. Not this week and problably not ever. If he concedes it will add legitimacy to the Bush presidency and that is the last thing he wants.
Question: Deep down, does Gore really think that he won, or (knowing that he did not win)will he just not give up his shot at being president, no matter what the consequences are? Bricky Me thinks it is the latter |

Now the Fla Supreme Court will uphold the decision, the democrat will probably lose that other case regarding the republicans filling in ballot info, and this baby will be all over before Thursday...

DaWolf-
I do not share your faith in the Florida Supreme Court. They already showed their activist stripes when the forged new law for Florida after the election was completed and changed SHALL and MAY to MUST NOT. I believe the Florida Supreme Court would gleefully overturn this decision. The only saving grace is that they know the eyes of the US Supreme Court are upon them. xoxo~ gaz does not yet have that warm fuzzy feeling.<BR> |
