Opening Weekend Road Trip to Chiefs vs. Jacksonville

A group of us from the Tampa area are going to the game. I'm sure there will be other Chief fans going to the game.

The group seats are in Section 130. Row U and V. Seats 1-20

We are planning to get some group tickets together and fly the Chiefs red. We are also planning the best tailgate to ever take place in the Jaguar's parking lots.

If you just want to come to the tailgate and get your own tickets I'll post the location of the tailgate in the opening post when its decided.

Here's the tailgate spot. You can buy parking reservations in the lot now. I will post a pic or describe the location of where we are at in the parking lot early on game day in this thread.

Need some help from the local guys or fans who have been to the Jacksonville stadium.

Where can we meet as Chief fans and all drive into the parking lot as a group to tailgate together?

I have been over there once prior, but don't really remember the downtown layout too well. I know there was lots of parking south of the stadium. I got a parking pass on Talleyrand for $16. Hopefully someone can chime in though.

I don't think that's possible unless you meet up at like a fast food place or something. Downtown is just so clustered it's difficult to do that. If anything you'd have to meet well outside of the downtown area. Or maybe you could actually meet up at the state college downtown campus parking lot. That might work. Just to meet up and then drive to the tailgate area which may or may not be an "actual" parking lot.

bro....Jacksonville is the 5th largest city in the United States by land area and the largest in Florida. If you had "conquered" Jacksonville you'd have known that. You've only been to 1/5 of the entire city. Did you really go to UF?

I could mention plenty of places to meet up. Problem is the timing of it all. Do you wait for everyone before going to tailgate? How do you know everyone is there? Probably better to just meet at the tailgate area. Talleyrand is a good street w/most options. You can get there around 10:00 and reserve 10 spots or so.

If you still want a place to meet up, I'd say the easiest for everyone to find would be the McDonald's at I-95 and Emerson. It's about the 1st exit things start jamming up before downtown.

BTW, does someone have extra tickets for your section? Another tip. If you run out of tickets, you can buy from the scalpers and meet up at the Bud Zone. This is what we do when we want to sit together but have tickets in different parts of the stadium.

Hope this helps...

I specifically remember driving by the coffee plant down there and wanting to drive into a tree.

Thanks for the great tips and info.

What we are looking to accomplish is to be able to park together at the tailgate. At Arrowhead and at the Tampa Bay Stadium you can't reserve tailgating spots.

It worked out pretty well at the Bucs stadium last year. We met at a place right down the road and drove together to the parking lot, Then we parked by each other. Soon other Chief fans in the lot found us and it was a a big Chief fans party.

You can call the ticket office. The rows we are in are in the OP.

We do have one ticket that the owner would like to give away to a Chiefs fan that can't afford to go due to their financial circumstances. But are big Chief fans and would appreciate the ticket. We can keep it on the downlow. Just PM me.
