I just got back from this move.
I didn't know whether or not I wanted to see this movie, but this morning when I picked up the paper and it got 3.5 stars, I decided to give it a shot. I didn't read the rest of the review, because I wanted to go into this movie without my usual cynicism. I wanted to see where the movie took me. I enjoy every type of movie, so I though... what the hell.

As for my thoughts on the veracity, or the innaccuracy of the film, I won't get into that. I wanted to just post a review of the movie as a movie, not as a documentation or dramatization of actual historical event. I don't want to get into the what ifs, and the buts.

The movie is good, bordering on very good. It jumps from scene to scene, at different places, refusing to let you get terribly attached to any one or group of characters. As far as a dramatic movie, I've never seen this done before, but it is very effective of bringing forth the panic, confusion and at times hopelessness of the situation right into you. You never get that comfortable feeling that you do in other movies, whether they are action-oriented or not. I think this may be due to the fact that you know what will happen, but I still felt differently in this movie than I have in other real-event-based movies.

So I guess I'd give it 3-3.5 out of 4 stars, and use these words to describe it.
It is sobering, terrifying and sad. This should be no suprise, considering the subject matter. I feel that the scab of the events was torn off a bit, and I am back at re-evaluating the emotions I went through that day and re-living my thoughts and feelings. It's worth seeing, even if you don't believe the factual content, as it is a well made, emotional movie.
