Strange travel dillema

Ok, so I head out overseas in a few weeks and everything is fine except for one thing. All my carry on luggage is too big for international travel. Aeroflot (and most carriers overseas) have a max size of 20cm X 40cm X 55cm (7.87" X 15.75" X 21.65")

The problem is, I want something that looks decent has a shoulder strap and is smaller than those dimensions but not MUCH smaller. That is proving next to impossible.

So far I keep running into messenger bags which are far too small or holdalls that are too big. Oh, or things that look like giant purses.

The closest I have found is this.

..and I'm not sure I like not having at least one side pocket.

So, do any of you guys have some super secret source for cool luggage that I am clueless about?

Nice (much better than the giant purse) but I was trying to avoid a backpack and go with a cross body shoulder strap. And yes, I know I'm a picky bitch... but I just find that much easier to work with.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that. I found some in China but because of Chinese New Years starting, there is no chance they will get here anytime soon.

I checked my local Nordstroms but didn't think to check Rack online. I'm checking them now.

I can probably get away with 8 X 16 X 22

It's definitely an odd shape.

I think it's 21" in length is how they mean it - it appears they have the dims reversed.
