Well grbac's season just got harder

Jamal Lewis is out for the season with a torn ACL in practice. So 'ol Elvis has even less of a running game and less talented recievers than he left behind in KC? Heh-heh.:)

Best? Not just yet.
That Raven D is one of the best in history.
If they can do it again, I would agree with you. But I do not put "best in history" placards on one-shot wonders.

I do think they have the potential to be the best in history, but I am not ready to anoint them yet.

Interesting <a href="http://www.ravensnest2.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=2&t=009067">post on the Raven's BB</a>.
F** the self pity (apologies for the 4 letter word, but needed)! Just get ready to get loud and win with the pass instead of the run.
The points against stat was included, Cannibal - you know, the part where I listed TDs against and FGs against...

And I don't get exactly what your beef is, I'm essentially listing Tennessee as 1a and Baltimore as 1b. That's not taking anything away from Baltimore, that's just saying I think the Titan D was on the same level, and maybe a hair better, but nobody noticed.

Like Gaz said, there's no "best ever" moniker yet. They have more to prove.

Beyond that, you need to take a look at last season again if you think their defense "carried" them to a Super Bowl. During the regular season they scored 24+ points in half their games, and won all those games. The games where the offense couldn't put points on the board, they were only 4-4 (and 2-4 when they scored less than 14 points).

Defense doesn't carry you anywhere if your offense can't score.

Chiefs fans should know that as well as anyone...

Bob, that's not nearly as funny as the thread entitled:

WE WILL SURVIVE because we still have Grbac (knock on wood!!!)

Now that was a gut buster....

I was going to post something on htat thread, but why kick somebody when they are down?

Oh, and BTW, some of the members over there think that you are me....

they find it impossible that more than 1 person dislikes Grbackup:D

If I was given a choice of the Raven or Titan D, I take the Raven D everytime.

I am absolutely sure that most people would agree with me.

I'd be happy with the Buffalo defense at this point. That'd be a big improvement over the shit we've seen on the field lately...

As for Tenny/Ravens debate, my opinion's pretty clear, and if it doesn't agree with the popular opinion broadcast nightly on SportCenter and Fox Sports Net, well, I couldn't give a rats @ss. Baltimore had a better team, but I believe Tennessee had (and still has) a better defense. Lose Steve McNair and the Titans might be 2-time defending champs right now.

And if we're talking now, I'd sure as hell take the 2001 Titans defense, with Kearse and Carter on the ends, Rolle at CB, Rodney, Godfrey and Favors at LB and Bishop at safety.

Either way, though, I'm gonna have to be happy with Hicks and Clemons on the ends, Crockett (ugh) at CB, Bush, Patton and Edwards at LB and Woods/Wesley at S.

Actually, that doesn't sound so bad.

Except for Crockett.

Ugh.

Crockett won't be the starter for too long. Our young guys are coming along. We'll be set for a long time once they do...

As far as the Tenn/Balt debate, I'd take Baltimore's defense last year, but I'd take Tennessee's this year because of the addition of Carter up front...

Titan or Ravens?

I absolutely agree that the Titans with another QB would be Super Bowl bound. McNair is holding them back. Teams have figured him out, just like everyone except the Spineless Jellyfish Stooge figured out Gannon last season.

I would be hard-pressed to choose an absolute winner between the Ravens and Titans Defenses. I would not quibble with anyone who picked one or the other, but I do not agree that the choice is as obvious as some want to make it.

True, the Ravens' D got more media exposure, which might make Cannibal's statement about "most people" true.

xoxo~
