We have two things to look forward to this year:

1) The potential beginning of the Maty Mauk Era. Mauk represents the best chance for this program to get back to a level of respectability after horrendous QB play cost us multiple games last year.

2) The last year of the Gary Pinkel era. Pinkel's entrenched cronyism won't play in a conference this competitive, especially if he couples his abysmal gameday coaching with lackadaisical, worst-in-conference recruiting. Pinkel was the formerly adequate meal that has now turned into a four pound bowel obstruction. It's time to jam a Fleet's enema up our collective asses.

Here is the schedule. We dodge Alabama, LSU, and Arkansas in the west and the Non-con is decidedly weaker than years past.

Looks like 6-6. Undefeated in non-con, 2-6 in league play.

I will eventually update the OP with a list of high profile in-state recruits that decide to go elsewhere after a half-assed attempt to gain their services. The inevitable cavalcade of *** rejects, skeezers, skanks, and scalliwags we get will fill out the ranks.

Since every Mizzou thread eventually dies of AIDS, I recommend starting anti-retroviral therapy immediately. I believe Walgreens covers Express Scripts.

Has it been mentioned yet that Connor Shaw has a "significant" knee sprain? It's very early but it seems very possible he could miss next weeks game. Now I know most people say you want to face teams at their full strength but you know what? I'll take any advantage we can get.

I am fast believing this staff has any sort of competence on the offensive side of the ball. At all. Their talent evaluation on O has been terrible. Many subs who have come in for injured players have outperformed the guy they're replacing. It's mindboggling that Taylor didn't get more carries. He was the only guy moving the ball all day.

I didn't get that either, they ran all the way down the field on us just by handing the ball off, and then never tried it again.

He is, but his closing speed is ever better. I'm not sure I've ever seen a DE who closes on QBs like he does. Half of his sacks come when the QB sees him, moves, and assumes he's outrun Sam...then Sam crushes him from behind.

I thought the fans were pretty good around us yesterday. Better than normal anyway. Up for most of the game, not sitting until the game was out of reach.

Lot of funny Florida fan quotes arounds us...

"That's SEC speed! Ya'll don't have it!" - after tackling Murphy on the opening kickoff.

"..." - a lot. Generally after a long pass play (this is silence, not a curse word)

"He gone!" (Hawk Harrelson style) - first kickoff to Florida, which was returned to the 18 or so.

"Who needs offense! We've got defense and special teams!" - start of game, after TD return.

"We just need a pick 6 and we're right back!" - most of the 2nd/3rd quarters.

"Florida's offense is the CFB equivalent of the Chiefs, except without the stud RB." - me (and I was wrong. It's worse)
