I can patiently wait for Mahomes as long as Alex is top of the league. Hate to see him make another team a contender like he has our team. Cassel and the Haley Carousel of QB shit it's nice to finally have a couple of bullets in the chamber.

Next year we face a first place schedule again. That includes the AFC North, NFC West, and same place finishers against the AFC East and AFC South. We have likely road games next year against New England, Seattle, Pittsburgh, and LA Rams. We'll have home games against Baltimore and probably Jacksonville. That's a murderous schedule, not even including the likelihood of Oakland and Denver bouncing back.

We have no first round pick and no cap room with Smith on the roster.

So I ask again, you'd really keep Smith around with another early playoff exit?

We're no better than 8-8 next year with or without Smith. At least without Smith you finally let the future start and you have a potential extra draft pick and more cap room to add more talent.

Keeping Smith is no more than spinning your tires in the mud, going absolutely nowhere.

but if we play Missouri Jesus in Week 1 2018 he might also get a torn ACL and then we're ****ed for the rest of the season, therefore we should sit him until 2019 to prevent injury

Given Reid clearly had no intention of putting him in as the starter this year, sure would have been nice for him to get the phantom injury to IR treatment and make this a non-issue.
