Im no longer high speed
Well....my high speed internet blew a gasket or something. Quit working. I was on hold with Mediacom for 22 mins before they told me that they didn't know what was wrong. He said it might be an ethernet card problem.

I am so frustrated. I want someone to fix it. I need my pron.

That's always the generic excuse they give you. I would not assume it's your network card.... make them come and check. Or if you have a laptop or know someone who does, plug it into the laptop network port and see if that machine works.......

Amen. I've had those tools give me the "it's your equipment" excuse for cable modems, telephone circuits, etc, etc. You just have to keep on them and make it easier for them to check their s**t than listen to you.

in my experience the problem is more likely to be an IP Address or a Cable Modem problem


1. turn off computer

2. unplug modem

3. disconnect cable wire and computer line to modem.

4. wait 45 seconds

5. check to see if there is a reset button on back of modem ... if so then push it. Might be a "hole" button.

6. plug cable wire and computer wire back in

7. plug modem back in

8. turn computer back on
