If Bowe goes down . . .

What the hell are they going to do with the WR position?

I don't care how good of a play designer or play caller Reid can be, or if Alex Smith plays like he did in the playoff game for the entire season, we'd be lucky to average 20 points a game if our WR core becomes:

Avery, Jenkins, Hemmingway, Wilson/Williams/Dressler

Is Dorsey expecting our defense to hold opposing offenses to less than 10 points a game or something?

The only WR's out there right now who are worth even a tiny glance are:

Miles Austin
Santonio Holmes

That's literally it on the FA market.

Do we trade Flowers for someone? Who would make that trade? Hali?

It seems like the FO is betting on Jenkins, Avery, and Hemmingway to step up their games in year 2, but I won't be holding my breath on it.

Another possibility is that they expect Kelce back at full strength and expect him to be a 40-60 catch guy for us as an inline TE and occasional slot guy.

All I know is that Reid really has his work cut out for him. This offensive roster, in terms of receiving weapons, is nearly as bad as his early 2000 Eagles days when he had Todd Pinkston, Freddy Mitchell, and James Thrash as his top receivers. I just pray that Bowe can stay healthy and put up at least 80% of the production that Owens had for the Eagles in 2004.

Moncrief would have likely been a first rounder next season.

And guess what?

We won't get him next year either.

Also, with the weaker senior WR class, you can expect more underclassmen WRs to declare again who are already very good players.

We barely use the WR's to begin with.

Now, if JC goes down and we have to depend on this WR corp...

Well, we now have De'Anthony Thomas to fill in at the RB spot. I hear he and Charles had similar 100 meter times in college.

I don't get you Sac. You hate on Avery for dropping passes and want to upgrade with another guy that drops passes?

I hope we don't lose Bowe honestly. If we don't we should be good.

Next offseason will be ****ing awesome. We'll have money for free agency, we'll have have all of our draft picks and we'll have a comp pick or two.
Yup. Except that right now, we're positioning ourselves to have 3 or 4 comp picks. 11 total picks. Hopefully we can ship off Hali and Flowers next year to bring us up to maybe 12 or 13 picks. And next year, unlike this year, we'll have a clean cap and because our 2016 cap is extremely clean, we will have a lot of flexibility to maneuver in the cap.

We set up a chance at a really good run starting in 2015. But again, execution is key.

Most, if not all, of these guys will be available next year in the draft. Like any of them as a potential #1 and at least a #2? Any other names you want to throw in there?

There's a reason his numbers suffered.

Smith didn't target Bowe the first few games pretty much at all. Smith doesn't like two things about throwing to Bowe.

First, Bowe doesn't get open enough like Smith likes. It took Smith until at least mid season for him to trust Bowe would make the play in tight coverage.

Second, Bowe ran a LOT of sideline routes early on, and a bunch designed to clear out space for short routes. He wasn't getting the ball when it was designed to go elsewhere, and Smith doesn't like to throw outside the numbers b/c he really struggles out there.

Smith warmed up to Bowes "always open" style throughout the season. If he picks up where he left off, he's good.

Fact is, whether Bowe is actually good or not at this point of his career, he is the most reliable perimeter receiver that we have.

For some reason it took them until mid season to run Bowe on many quick or deep slants, which really helped. Big part of Bowe's game. Can break them from time to time.
