No. I am extremely disappointed that Scott has been retained in any fashion. He had all season long to get this done. All this is doing is stringing us along for another month or two. I don't like that Pioli's fate is decided by the next head coach.
While I would rather Pioli be gone completely... I understand that there is a small matter of 7 million dollars to consider. It is easy enough for you or I to tell Clark to just pay the guy to go away but... it is 7 million dollars. Perhaps Clark feels that if he is going to have to pay the guy 7m that he should get some value out of him. He makes no roster decisions at all and just manages the business side of the club for a year until his contract expires. Hunt hires a HC that handles all football ops who then has a say in who replaces Pioli next season. I say that no... I do not approve of how Clark is handling this thing but I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for a while longer. I will support any coach Hunt selects. I may not be thrilled with the choice... I may even question it. But I'll give it the requited 4 seasons before I start grumbling. |

I honestly don't know what all the fuss is about. I'm totally impressed with Clark on this deal.
Wanted to get rid of Coswell? Check. Wanted to get rid of Roleo? Check. Wanted more involvement from the owner? Check. Wanted Pioli to be humiliated beyond belief? Check and Done. Now, it's true that Pioli has yet to receive his formal walking papers, but that's merely a matter of time. No owner of anything (let alone an NFL franchise) is going to publicly urinate on his GM's head then keep him around unless it's for financial reasons only. And, to be perfectly honest, instead of paying Dr. Evil's early termination buy-out, I'd rather Clark use the money on better players. I urge all interested parties to immerse their nuts in a nice, warm testicle bath for a few days while the details get worked out. Nothing soothes the fevered soul like a good junk dunk. FAX |

I've been thinking about this, and I don't think it's about the money. Not entirely anyway. I have no doubt Scott Pioli is on his way out the door, but why wait? When you think about the failure of the football team, that's one thing, and it's bad enough. However when you think about just how alienated the fan base is, over being essentially told to **** ourselves with a rusty, AIDS fork by the front office for the last 4 years. How player charities have been shut down. Radio and TV shows by players, shut down. How former players are excluded from participation on any level. How there are a **** ton of former employers suing the club over age discrimination. There is a lot more than 2-14 going on here.
Scott Pioli came in here and completely broke this proud, storied franchise of 53 years down in only 4 years. And it wasn't just winning and losing. The whole thing tumbled down in 4 short years. To the point that Clark had to change the entire business model to ensure that something like this could never happen again. I think it's principal for Clark. I think Clark is essentially saying "You either quit, or I'll have you serving ****ing hot dogs in the concourses next year!" I genuinely think Clark is having a hard time from a moral perspective to reward that fraud, and thief one more penny for everything he's done. At least I sure as **** hope so... As far as my satisfaction? I said on Facebook yesterday that I didn't think there was any way I could have foreseen being so in love with a team 3 days after the end of the worst season I'd ever witnessed in my life. Clark Hunt most certainly gives a shit about Kansas City Chiefs football, and there isn't anything that could make me happier than that. Because he's the only guy around that has any say so that will be there longer than me. |

I agree with this. Clark Hunt made me a fan again of him & renewed confidence that better days & years are ahead of us. He was not a happy camper by any streatch of imagination. I could see the pain he held on to this past year. With or with out Pioli / be damned. I think Clark Hunt is determined to make this a winning organization & is willing to change long time belief that it's about the GM and now puting the control into the hands of the Coaches with direct line to owner. That is huge for growth with the young owner in Clark Hunt.

No. I would feel much more confident about landing a top tier coaching candidate if there wasn't an embattled GM hanging around in limbo while the CEO works on a plan to get out of paying him. Like everything related to this organization, it reeks of dysfuction.

This video was probably posted somewhere, but I can't embed it. It's KCTV's exclusive interview with Clark. Nothing really new, but I did like seeing Clark's response to fans flying banners over the stadium, and saying he felt our pain and was miserable himself through the season.
