Everything I said about Smith weeks ago was confirmed in today's game. I questioned his pocket presence when facing pressure. Give him a clean pocket and he can go through progressions and make throws. I think some people have overestimated his arm strength. You didn't really see many needle threading attempts today. He plays a relatively safe game which is reflected in his TD/INT ratio.

I'm not the guy who made claims that Smith has the pocket presence of Luck or the downfield strength and accuracy of Griffin, etc. He is what I thought he is.

Right,

Having played for Frisco, Alex Smith fits all of the requirments the Chiefs demand from a QB. So that would be QB #4 from them. I know you are being sarcastic but can you believe there are people that actualy consider this a good idea?

Are you ****ing nuts? He's literally been under pressure nearly all season. Go back and look at the OU game. The Texas game. The guy has had defenders in his face all game long, all season long.

Again, are you ****ing nuts?

Did you see the weather? The condition on the field? Both he and Nassib were completely toned down and rightfully so. I mean, Nassib alone has put up record breaking numbers in the passing game for the Orange. WVU's passing defense is literally one of the worst in the FBS division. Yet, they hitch their wagon to the run. Why? Because it was a ****ing blizzard with 40 mph winds.

And yet you are expecting Geno to throw 50 yard lasers and criticize him when he doesn't.

Ass.

The weather had a lot to do with it. The guy in the other side is a stud QB in his own right and he looked terrible.

And I really like the guy.

It was shit conditions that were not conducive to the passing game.

But don't go full reerun.

Nassib:

12/24
127 yards
50% completion
2 TD's
1 Int
113.6 rating

Geno:

16/24
187 yards
66.7% completion
2 TD's
0 Ints
159.6 rating

Both QB's had receivers drop balls that were right in their hands. Geno had several passes come back for shitty holding penalities.

And Syracuse's offensive line is substantially better than WVU's.

People who haven't watched WVU a lot seem to think that Geno should automatically put up 500 and 4 TDs every game. They don't watch how freaking porous his offensive line was for the entire season and how horrible the defense was. The guy has literally been throwing to his receivers while under a ton of pressure the entire year.

You put him in a game where it's damn near impossible to drive the ball down the field vertically against a team that is running the ball down their throats and it's going to be a tough hill to climb.

But most of the Geno detractors don't have the mental capacity to understand things like this.

They didn't see him making multiple reads all game long, making NFL level passes, making solid audibles at the line of scrimmage. They just know that he didn't pass for 500 yards and 6 TDs thus he must suck.

All of this, a garbage game plan, penalties, turnovers, Syracuse's offense pounding the rock and their defense attacking Geno on a cold wet day.

Sometimes the elements are just against you on certain days.

Stud college QB? Yep. Stud prospect? Nope. Not with those mechanics, and this is coming from a Mizzou fan who saw him go no Vaseline in Columbia.

Nassib can fling it pretty good and had 5 YPA against the shittiest D in college ball. That is pretty telling right there.
