Should Boe start in place of Parker at Miami?

If those of you can remember, the play prior to Priest's 60 yd TD reception, run after the catch. KC was at their own 40yd, with a 3rd and 11. And the dude that caught a critical 3rd down play was ... yes #85, 15 yds reception.

And that ended up being THE-PLAY in my book that set up the next play (Priest's TD: 28-21) which became the game winning TD, as KC defense stepped it up and shut the Skins out from that point on.

Oh. and not forgetting his towering 2-point conversion catch that got us up 14-7 over the touted rookie Carlos Rogers.

The reason Boe was in that series? Parker got hurt on the previous series, the underthrown ball from Green cost him to reach back, pulled the groin on the fall as he was tackled. What's his status ? Anyone knows?

I'd prefer that, with Parker in the slot. I believe Parker's good play at the end of last season came primarily in the slot anyway.

Yes. Tall and fast.
If Parker can play use him sparingly.

I don't care who starts, but I would like to see Boe get more snaps, and more looks lining up on the outside.

Personally, I'd like to see Boe and Parker with less Hall in there. Hall makes clutch plays on occasion, but is too limited in where he's effective because of his size. Plus, less Hall at WR might mean I don't have to see that stupid half yard hitch that always get him creamed.

ya I'd like that a lot, he has great potential and he's played well when he's out there. A big, tall, strong & fast white boy possession WR is what we need (doesn't have to be a white boy though)

I think that Parker has the best upside, drops aside. The tide has really turned on the kid, he was going to the ring of fame a month ago, now he should be on the practice squad - in some peoples eyes. I like Bo, and happy to see him working his way back into the lineup, but I think we should stick with Parker.

Parker can be upside this or not, but we keep saying that he can stretch the defense and yet he's been consisently looked to for the 3rd down pick-ups and mostly intermediate routes. Kennison seems to be getting the deep balls, sans the Skins game where he was on mute.

If Tony G is going to be blanketed and Kennison covered by a their 1- and we consistently need SP or MB to make the catch to keep drives going - give me MB.

All the guy does is make catches. He's deceptively quicker then most (probably not those lurking here) believe and a nice big target for Trent to work with.

I have no problem with working both SP and Boe, but in definate passing downs we should be using MB. Mixing it up with Dante and such.

Things I'd like to see

1 & 2nd downs - 2 wr sets - Kennison & SP w/ Gonzo and Wilson and 1 RB -
put them in motion -
Send Tony out wide,
Empty Priest out for no backfield (possibly use Dunn here for blocking)
Overload one side

3 TE Sets - Dunn, Wilson & Gonzo

Dunn in motion out wide with wilson then in motion wide on other side, leaving TG strong. You could pull guys to setup for a HB screen or misdirection by having Wilson run a cross to bring his men to the middle more and then let Tony chip and run a skinny cross or out & up after faking the screen or pitch out wide. Then you could actually come back to this and run the pitch and have the benefit of having Tony with Roaf to chip and seal the corner and Dunn the freedom to clear out a tiny cb and even get to 2nd tier blocking and find a LB or S.

2 Back sets with or w/out FB

Wishbone PH & LJ and run the quick pitch to which ever side the D is giving #'s. This can be run with a multitude of WR's or TE's and can also allow for a double screen from the same formation & the benefit of TR staying in to pick up a blitz - should they a D want to chance it and be left open to leaving a giant gap for the O

Quick pitch flea flicker / back pass and hit one of the WR or TE's that peel off the coverage when the D is sucked into the run.

5 WR overloads - Trips to the weakside, with a TE in, at slot, or motioning out and WR split wide. I'd put Parker in there for two reasons. He won't probably pick up their top cover and Trent could freeze any S help with a pump to the trips side - leaving him to try a slinny post or go route with his speed. The TE on the weakside could be Tony to run an underneath route or if we need more protection bring in Dunn who could help block and release if available - he's respectable enough to expect to catch these shorter routes. As for the trips - you could send one on a stop and go, one on an out and up and forcing the safeties to leave some area soft. And have one WR fake a reverse or a have them drop and turn like they are a quick out or if they are could run a simple curl if the 2ndary stays with the deep route.

There is a crap load of stuff I don't get why Saunders hasn't tried b/c it seems like they have vanilla'd down the motion or attempting to create mismatches? Its almost as if they think they can simply steamrole any team at will and that will force 8 in the box to make the passing game rediculously easy...

I don't want to get too cutesy but we have a multitude of guys that can be hybrided around to confuse defensive assignments and overcommitments but look as if we're still in preseason don't show shit mode.

AM I way off, or did I just confuse everyone with my ideas by not make it easy to follow or clearly illlustrating them? ohh well (?)

We need to start the 2 best WRs period. Forget who has the best future upside. Let's not give up on that WR, but let that upside be aquired in practice and limited game play. The WR that gives the Chiefs the best opportunity to win should play. Right now I think Boerigtor is that WR.

Absolutely. I've been wondering about that as well. If Samie's the one with pure speed that can stretch Defenses, why is Eddie getting all the deep routes?

Could be that Eddie's one of Vermeil's favorite puppy and this is what happends in the coaches office:

DV: Come in Eddie
EK: Coach about switching me to X...
DV: We really like to use Samie's speed to stretch the D
EK: But coach, I'm not getting any younger, one big hit, I might be done.
DV: I see your concerns. I did promise your wife that I'll keep you away from taking the big hits.
EK: So... that means...
DV: Nevermind then. Just let Samie know I don't need to meet with him after all.

Could be that since Kennison can actually catch the ball, he gives us the best option for a big play.

So how many balls did "BIG PLAY" Kennison catch in the game vs. Redskins? Trust me, I looked twice at the game stat just to be sure I saw our big play receiver's name.

Ever since this offense was installed in 2001 when DV got here, the only big play player we've had is Priest. And then last year LJ showed glimpses of a big play guy.

Maybe when you see Parker run the deep routes more often, you'll love him as well. He's drawn quite a few pass interference call already this season when he went deep. His speed does garner some DB attention, in case you haven't taken notice. We are not saying to bench Eddie but make him run the short routes that Samie is having to do (which is unfortunate cuz' Samie does have better speed and legs).

J&J - I would say that Kennison should get the deep routes or any routes, Parker's had a number of drops that have stalled drives. He's not alone, and I think we are 2nd in the league with most drops.

Boe moves the chains and seems to get past the chains when its needed. If we're trying to run a control offense from the standpoint of rushing 1st and trying to keep the defense from being on the field too much - for multiple reasons and no one need look further than Indy to see this will boost you chances to win if you can keep your D fresh, run down the opp.'s D, and end up with greater time of possession. An added bonus of this ideaology is it seems to cause the opposing teams offense to do the inverse and try to score quickly, thereby improving the %'s of your D coming up with a stop or only 3. (completion %'s versus avg YPC = clock moving and short 3rd downs vs clock stopping and 3rd & +5... usually)

Seems to me that Boe is much better for getting those short yardage completions on 3rd down ? Really hard to argue when he's clearly a better possession reciever - even by the own admission based on what they've alluded to SP's abilities
