Are the Chiefs going to Sign a DT ????

Are the Chiefs ever going to admit what the hell is really going on with Ryan Sims?

After watching several other teams play this year -- mainly Jacksonville and New England - it quickly becomes apparent what we are lacking... solid DT play.

Right now the Chiefs can upgrade this position with some of the guys out there doing nothing probably for the league min.

Here's what Mario Fatafehi's done the last 2 years

Played 32
Started 25
Solo Tackles 49
Sacks 5

Sims over the last 2 seasons

Played 31
Started 29
Solo Tackles 54
Sacks 5

Dalton

Played 28
Started 22
Solo Tackles 41
Sacks 5

Siavii -- since he's been here
Played 12
Started 0
Solo Tackles 7
Sacks 1

If Sims is out - here's our chance to bring in someone who can help - someone with a chip on his shoulder who has put up the same numbers as Dalton and Sims -- who we as Chiefs fans actually think are pretty decent players. Why in hell is he not signed?? What are we doing about this position -- a few weeks ago it looked like we were looking at some D-linemen but no action!!

I think they will acquire one player during the bye week, they just aren't sure yet if it should be a DT, or Freddie Mitchell.

I think that FredEx is a definite to replace Chris Horn on the roster, but the big question is regarding a DT. In order to make room, they would have to put either Sims or Fox on IR.

They already have admitted what they are going to do with Sims. They are going to give him 4-6 weeks to see if he recovers or needs surgery. We are currently 2 weeks into that 4-6 weeks. What else is there to say?

Other than that, I agree that we need to look at getting a DT. I can think of several guys that can be cut to make room on the roster. Fatafehi, Dorsett Davis, that lardass from Arizona, anything. just try someone, maybe we can get another Lionel Dalton that plays with fire for at least the first year, after getting another chance.

I think he was probably our best DT last year, playing with a lot of fire.

That's why I said "at least the first year, after getting another chance."

He appeared to be playing off the emotion of getting a second (3rd) chance.

Yeah thats true. Last year when he came in, he played with a little bit of passion. I dont see that same passion I saw last year, it diminshed. This is exactly what he did with the Broncos.

I think they will probably end up signing Warren Sapp and bring back Gilbert Brown, you know, to appease the real fans...by then we should be starting Peter Warrick and Freddie Mitchell at WR

All we need is a small burst of fire for now. Someone to play 4 weeks, or 8 weeks if Sims is out all year.

I don't expect to find a permanent fix to our DT problems off of the week 4 scrap heap. We just need look at some options other than what we currently have. That was my point.

I agree. I was saying all along the Chiefs should consider Fatafehi. I think he's better than what we currently have.
